Richard, a sparrow who was adopted by a stork family, is wintering at the Great Lake in Northern Africa. When he realises that he won’t be the one to lead his flock back North, Richard decides to fly away to travel on his own and crosses paths with Samia and her sparrow flock, who are being held captive by evil marabous under the control of the greedy peacock Zamano. The only chance of freedom for the sparrows is to solve a riddle and find the Great Jewel, which will call upon teamwork, trust and most of all- spork (sparrow + stork) skills.

Sihja is a young, charming and a little outrageous fairy who leaves her home in the forest. On arrival in the city, she meets a sensitive new friend, a lonely human boy Alfred. Sihja loves the newly found organized urban shapes and orderly habits that the city people have. One day dead birds appear on the city streets. Alfred and Sihja must find out what is threatening the nature.

Pero surgen problemas cuando las cigüeñas, aves migratorias, parten hacia África para pasar el invierno. Richard quiere partir también, y empieza a hacer autostop por toda Europa, en autobús, tren, y barco, junto con un búho excéntrico y un periquito divertidísimo que canta disco, para demostrar a su familia de cigüeñas que él también es una de ellas.

Wolfang Zenker es un vendedor ambulante de ropa femenina, de mediana edad, que está en un aprieto: su joven competidor a muerte amenaza con robarle sus mejores clientes ya que Zenker ha perdido el carnet de conducir. Agobiado ante la perspectiva de quedar rezagado, decide cancelar las vacaciones de su hijo y emplearlo en contra de su voluntad como conductor. Las cosas van de mal en peor: el banco le persigue, Hacienda da con él, su mujer le deja, su hijo le informa de su homosexualidad ¡y se enamora del adversario de su padre! La familia y el enemigo se reúnen en un clamoroso enfrentamiento final en el que volarán los malos entendidos y las balas.
