El 20 de diciembre de 1989, pocos días después de la sangrienta represión de Ceausescu en Timisoara, la tarde tranquila de un padre, se convierte en una verdadera prueba cuando descubre que su pequeño hijo le ha enviado una carta a Santa Claus. Alice (Andra Guti) es una adolescente adoptada que tiene una relación tensa con su madre adoptiva, Bogdana (Mihaela Sirbu). Un día, en medio de una discusión acalorada con Bogdana, Alice confiesa que está embarazada y que quiere quedarse con el bebé. Melania, a 15 years old high school student gets pregnant with Emi, a classmate. Melania does not tell anyone she's pregnant, Not even to Emi, or to her parents. The situation is extremely complicated because Emi's mother is the director of the high school where the two lovers study, and Melania's mother is secretary at the same high school. Minor's mothers separates the two lovers and decide to give the baby up for adoption to a family of Romanians living abroad who don't have the right to legally adopt a child from Romania.

Six Romanian artists get to live the dream of their life in a road-movie full of adventures: America, here we come! Coming all the way from Targoviste - a little town near the capital, the five actors, director, and a little child with his huge teddy bear, cross the ocean to perform in New York. Not everything goes according to plan though. The six decide, for some extra money, to start working with a local agent, also Romanian, settled in The States for some time, who promises them a major tour.

The movie tells the story of Matilda, an old woman that has to fight against a real-estate mogul in order to save her house. Frustrated that, between his job and his family, time is no longer his to manage and play with, Boogie now takes his shock dosage of freedom and spends a night to tick off all the items on the map of his youth (drinking, games, flirting, prostitutes). In the morning, after the disillusionment of the remake he experiences with his former friends, he returns to his wife.

Being forced into prostitution by her father, she finds solace in her friends and her journal.
