Screenplay
In 1937, near the border between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, a young Haitian woman named Marie is expecting her first child with Frank, her doting Dominican husband. After her mother's burial, she is awakened in the middle of the night by distant screams. The immediate execution of all Haitians on Dominican soil has been ordered — the so-called “Cut” — and what seals a victim’s fate is whether or not they can pronounce "perejil" (parsley). Marie takes off to find Frank in the next town over, with nothing but the clothes on her back.

In the 1950s, Lola, Gelacia, Pepa and Cira Garlobo are four young sisters who live alone on a coffee farm in the middle of the Sierra Maestra mountains. They do not want any man in the house, but the passage through the farm of a young man from the capital who is on his way to rise up with the "rebels" will change their lives at once, although they will not escape their loneliness for that.

En un pequeño pueblo de Cuba, una noticia explota como un petardo: los que se apelliden Castiñeiras recibirán una jugosa herencia que unas monjas depositaron en un banco de Inglaterra en el siglo XVIII. Todos los que así se apellidan empiezan entonces con los trámites para hacerse con su parte, pero como, es de imaginarse, muchas obstáculos se cruzan en el camino. Bernardito será el líder en esta disparatada búsqueda del tesoro.
Screenplay
Los pasajeros colapsan una terminal de autobuses de un pueblo cubano porque todos los vehículos pasan llenos y no recogen viajeros. Para poder emprender el viaje, todos se implican en la reparación del único transporte destartalado que queda en la terminal. Una experiencia en la que cada uno va a descubrir lo mejor de sí mismo.
