El conocido profesor Professor Jerzy Abramski es asesinado. De su investigación se encarga el inspector Wojciech Samborski y su ayudante, la oficial Marta Zadara. Ambos dan por sentado que tras el asesinato se esconde su amante. Sin embargo, su muerte cambia por completo el devenir de los acontecimientos. La fundación "Helpful Hand", fundada por el profesor Amramski, atrae la atención de la policía. La investigación les llevará a descubrir una trama de corrupción basada en el tráfico de órganos. Todo se complica aún más cuando ambos policías empiezan a mantener una relación sentimental entre ellos, lo que complica las pesquisas del caso.
