17世紀のフランス。若き冒険家ダルタニアンは、国王に仕える近衛銃士隊に入ろうとパリに向かうが、既に銃士隊は解散させられていた。国王ルイ13世とアン王妃が住む城で銃士隊を解散させたのは、国王の失脚をたくらむリシュリュー枢機卿で、残った銃士隊のメンバーは、アトス、アラミス、ポルトスという3人だけだ。アトスたちと出会ったダルタニアンは彼らと手を組み、枢機卿の野望をくだこうと誓い合い行動を起こす。
