Venture across Costa Rica's wild and rugged landscapes, from volcanic peaks to coastal jungle to misty cloud forests and discover the nation's dazzling diversity of hummingbirds. Watch how these tiny birds play an outsize role in maintaining some of the richest and wildest environments on Earth, where a whole community of creatures, such as macaws and monkeys, enjoys The Hummingbird Effect.

You have to go deep underground, along a winding path. You will crawl in the mud and in the cold, in your own sweat, which after a while will freeze on your skin. You will go from light to darkness to rediscover the light, the light in yourself... The first part of the three-part documentary series about exploring the underground in Slovakia will guide you through a tangle of incredibly narrow passages and at the same time a number of spacious underground halls of little-known caves. “A silent perusal of the Grand Canyon, morning to night, from a single, fixed camera position, by means of constant dissolves spaced a few seconds apart. Man — entirely absent — is no longer the center of the universe; the canyon exists outside of him. Despite the invisible photographer and his technologically-caused dissolves, this is a creditable approximation of the true foreign-ness of nature.” — Amos Vogel, Film as a Subversive Art (1974)
