UFC on ESPN 50: Sandhagen vs. Font (2023)

ある夜、ロサンゼルスの高級アパートメントから売春婦が飛び降り自殺する。LA市警察本部捜査第一課のロジャー・マータフ部長刑事が現場の捜査を始めた矢先に新しい相棒、マーティン・リッグス刑事が異動してくる。リッグスはマータフよりかなり若いがベトナム戦争では陸軍特殊部隊員として死線をくぐりぬけた経験があり、拳銃射撃と格闘の力量は極めて高い。ただ、3年前に愛妻を事故で亡くして以来、自暴自棄になることが多く市警察本部でも問題になっていた。マータフはこの新しい相棒に困惑しながらも自宅に招くなどして次第に打ち解けるようになっていく。そしてリッグスと共に売春婦飛び降り自殺事件を捜査していくと、背景にCIA特殊部隊のOBたちによるヘロイン密輸組織が浮かび上がってくる。

ロサンゼルス市警察本部捜査第一課のリッグス部長刑事とマータフ部長刑事はFBIの要請で、麻薬事件の重要証人である会計士のレオ・ゲッツを保護する。ヒットマンの襲撃から守り通したことで、ゲッツと打ち解けたリッグスとマータフは麻薬組織のボスの情報を聞き出し、同僚の刑事たちとボスの邸宅へ踏み込む。だが、そのボスの正体はラッドという南アフリカ総領事で治外法権のため逮捕も拘留もできない。ラッドは、警察の捜査を止めさせるために、手下にマータフの自宅を襲撃させるなどの脅迫を始めた。それでも捜査をやめないリッグスとマータフに業を煮やしたラッドは、2人の同僚である刑事達を次々と暗殺していく。

ロサンゼルス市警のリッグスとマータフは、あるビルの駐車場に仕掛けられた爆弾を爆弾処理班を待たず解体しようとしてビルを完全に爆破してしまう。巡査に降格された二人はパトロール中に輸送員に変装した強盗に遭遇しビリーというチンピラを逮捕するが取調室でビリーは何者かに殺されてしまう。ある日、若者の麻薬の取引現場を発見したリッグスは逮捕しようと試みるが銃撃戦となりマータフが犯人を射殺したが、それは息子の友人であった。未成年の銃事件とビリーを調べるうちにある人物が浮上する。

ロサンゼルス市警の刑事リッグスとマータフは、次々と街を破壊する完全武装した男が出現したため現場へ急行しリッグスの大立ち回りで解決する。事件から9か月後、2人は探偵となったレオと釣りに出かけ、不審な大型船と遭遇し船に乗り込むと船員との格闘となり船は座礁するが中国の密航船である事が判明する。密入国者が次々と連行されていく中、マータフは避難用ボートの中に隠れていたホン一家を発見。同情したマータフは違法と知りながら彼らを自分の家にかくまう。そんな時、ロス市警は2人の「壊し屋」のせいで保険を打ち切られたため、マーフィー警部は苦肉の策として2人を警部に昇進させ、デスクでおとなしくさせようとする。
