J・ウェイン主演の名作「勇気ある追跡」の原作となったC・ポーティスの小説を、「ノーカントリー」のコーエン兄弟が、製作総指揮にスティーヴン・スピルバーグと豪華タッグで映画化したヒューマンドラマ。雇い人に父親を殺された14歳の少女マティ（ヘイリー・スタインフェルド）は、逃亡した犯人への復しゅうを心に誓い、真の勇気を持つといわれる連邦保安官のコグバーン（ジェフ・ブリッジス）に犯人の追跡を依頼。腕はいいが大酒飲みのコグバーンは、最初はマティをはねつけるが、彼女の強い執念に押し切られ同行することに。テキサス・レンジャーのラビーフ（マット・デイモン）も加わり、かたきのチェイニー（ジョシュ・ブローリン）を追うこととなる。

不況時代のアメリカ30年代に実在した男女二人組の強盗、ボニーとクライドの凄絶な生きざまを描いた、アメリカン・ニューシネマの先駆け的作品。ケチな自動車泥棒だったクライドは、気の強いウェイトレスの娘ボニーと運命的に出会い、コンビを組んで強盗をやりはじめる。二人は順調に犯行を重ねていくが……。アカデミー賞2部門を受賞（助演女優賞エステル・パーソンズと撮影賞）した。

The story of notorious outlaw Taylon Flynn, a man hell-bent on exiting this life in a blaze of glory. His plans go awry upon the discovery of the sordid life his estranged daughter is forced to live. To save her, he must summon the inner demons he purged long ago, and finds that redemption is a hard road to travel.

Having fled to Mexico from the U.S. many years ago for killing his father's murderer, Martin Brady travels to Texas to broker an arms deal for his Mexican boss, strongman Governor Cipriano Castro. Brady breaks a leg and while recuperating in Texas the gun shipment is stolen. Complicating matters further the wife of local army major Colton has designs on him, and the local Texas Ranger captain makes him a generous offer to come back to the states and join his outfit. After killing a man in self defense, Brady slips back over the border and confronts Castro who is not only unhappy that Brady has lost his gun shipment but is about to join forces with Colton to battle the local raiding Apache Indians.

Audie Murphy is again the kid who puts on a badge to catch the bad guy, skillfully played by Barry Sullivan. On the way back to town the two develop a curiously close relationship - Sullivan passes up several chances to get away - but in the end Sullivan "asks for it" and Murphy obliges.

A retired Texas Ranger and three aged pals help to clean up a town run by a crooked mayor, a drunken judge and a trigger-happy sheriff.

Texas Ranger Dusty Rivers ("Isn't that a contradiction in terms?", another character asks him) travels to Canada in the 1880s in search of Jacques Corbeau, who is wanted for murder. He wanders into the midst of the Riel Rebellion, in which Métis (people of French and Native heritage) and Natives want a separate nation. Dusty falls for nurse April Logan, who is also loved by Mountie Jim Brett. April's brother is involved with Courbeau's daughter Louvette, which leads to trouble during the battles between the rebels and the Mounties. Through it all Dusty is determined to bring Corbeau back to Texas (and April, too, if he can manage it.)

Sent to Mexico to buy a bull, a Wyoming cowhand (Doug McClure) teams up with three Texas Rangers to solve a robbery/murder.
