When a comet passes close to the earth, machines all over the world come alive and go on homicidal rampages. A group of people at a desolate truck stop are held hostage by a gang of homicidal 18-wheelers. The frightened people set out to defeat the killer machines ... or be killed by them.

ホワイトハウスの女性スキャンダルを追っていたテレビ局のジェニーは、「エリー」という名に行き当たる。だがそれは女性の名ではなく、「Extinction Level Event（種の絶滅を引き起こす事象）」の略だった。大統領は、1年後に未知の彗星が地球に衝突する可能性があることを公表。これを阻止すべく彗星を核爆発させて軌道修正するプロジェクトが実行されたが、結果は失敗。衝突が刻一刻と迫る中、ついに大統領は地下に選ばれた100万人だけを移住させる計画を発表するのだった。

とある田舎町の森に火の玉が墜落する。目撃したホームレスの老人が好奇心から現場に向かうが、そこで粘液状の物体に腕を取りつかれてしまう。 そこへデート中のメグとポールが通りあわせ、老人を病院へ運ぶが、老人は物体に喰い尽くされ、ポールも犠牲となる。目撃したメグは一部始終を訴えるが信じて貰えず、保安官は町の不良少年ブライアンの仕業だと疑う。

ハレー彗星と共に地球に接近してきた謎の宇宙船。そこには3体の人間が安置されていた。だが研究のため地球に持ち帰った、人間と思われていたその生物は人々の精気を吸い取る宇宙の吸血鬼だった。C・ウィルソンの原作を「ポルターガイスト」のT・フーパーが映画化したSFパニック大作。

1000年に1度、7日間だけ現われる千年彗星の夜。旅の途中、移動遊園地に立ち寄ったサトシたちは、マジシャンのバトラーとその助手ダイアンと知り合った。その時、なぜかマサトだけに、バトラーの持つ“眠り繭”からの声が聞こえてくる。やがて繭から、千年彗星とともに目覚め、人間の願いを叶えるという幻のポケモン“ジラーチ”が現われる。実は、バトラーはジラーチの力で自らの野望を叶えようとたくらんでいて……。

Based on elements from the stories of Mark Twain, this feature-length Claymation fantasy follows the adventures of Tom Sawyer, Becky Thatcher and Huck Finn as they stowaway aboard the interplanetary balloon of Mark Twain. Twain, disgusted with the human race, is intent upon finding Halley's Comet and crashing into it, achieving his "destiny." It's up to Tom, Becky, and Huck to convince him that his judgment is wrong and that he still has much to offer humanity that might make a difference. Their efforts aren't just charitable; if they fail, they will share Twain's fate. Along the way, they use a magical time portal to get a detailed overview of the Twain philosophy, observing the "historical" events that inspired his works.

Two girls from the Valley wake up to find that a passing comet has eradicated their world and left behind a mysterious red-dust and a pack of cannibal mutants. With the help of a friendly truck driver, the girls save the earth from a villainous "think tank," karate chop their way through flesh-eating zombies, and, of course, find time to go to the mall.

The film was entered into the 47th Berlin International Film Festival, where director Bille August was nominated for the Golden Bear.

A quaint Australian fishing village is overcome by meteorites that turn its residents into the ravenous undead, leaving a small group of those unharmed to find a way out.

After a comet releases a mysterious virus that begins to kill all of the women in the world, a young couple's relationship is severely tested. They hide out (from both the illness and the savages who hunt the remaining women) in their over-sterilized apartment. Ultimately the duo escapes their self-imposed quarantine to head to the wilderness.

引っ越してきたばかりのムーミン一家は、ジャコウネズミから地球に迫ってくるという彗星の話を聞く。もっと詳しいことを知るため、ムーミンはミイ、スニフと共に、おさびし山にある天文台へ向かう旅に出る。スナフキン、フローレン、スノークといったおなじみのキャラクターたちとの最初の出会いや襲いかかる怪物や彗星への恐怖と闘いながら仲間たちは旅をつづける。
