大学に入学したばかりのジョシュは哲学クラスの授業初日、ニーチェなどの無神論者を信奉するラディソン教授から神はいないという宣言書を提出するように言われる。単位が取れないと危惧した生徒たちは宣言書を提出するものの、納得できないジョシュだけは拒否。そんなジョシュに対して教授は、生徒たちの前で神の存在を証明して見せろと迫る。

小さな田舎町で暮らす少女アナは、幼い頃から重い消化器疾患を患い入退院を繰り返していた。母クリスティは遠方の大病院へ診察を頼み、やっとのことでアナは入院するも、治療の方法がなく自宅に戻る。一方、二人が留守にしていた間、夫や姉妹との間にも亀裂が生じていた。そんな中、アナが庭の大木から落ちてしまう事故が起こる。幸い一命を取りとめたが、彼女の身にある驚くべき“奇跡”が待ち受けていた。
