Los Angeles is about to be hit by a devastating earthquake, and time is running out to save the city from imminent danger.

巨大地震が発生し、猛烈な揺れに襲われたカリフォルニア。超高層ビル群やゴールデンゲートブリッジが次々と倒壊し、ロサンゼルスなどの大都市が相次いで壊滅。救難活動に奔走するレスキュー隊のパイロット、レイはサンフランシスコに残された娘の救出に向かう。

2009年、リムジン運転手のジャクソン・カーティスは、子どもたちとの旅行を楽しんでいた。ところが、偶然湖底に沈む巨大な研究施設を発見し、地球が滅亡に向かっていることを知る。この危機から逃れる手はないものかと模索するジャクソンだったが、すでに天災は地球上の至るところで起こり始める。

サンフランシスコのとある街、失業した俳優、ダニエル・ヒラードは、3人の子どもが自分の全てというほどの、子煩悩な父親。しかし収入のない夫に代わって一家の家計を担っているやり手デザイナーの妻ミランダは、自分が連日疲れきって帰宅しても家事に全く協力せず子供達との遊びにかまけている夫や、自分だけが仕事に家事にと追われている事に強いストレスを感じていた。 長男クリスの誕生日、ミランダの留守中に自宅でパーティを開き、大騒ぎを起こしたダニエルは、堪忍袋の緒が切れたミランダからとうとう離婚の意思を告げられる。生活能力のないダニエルは養育権を奪われ、週一度限られた時間にしか子どもたちに会えなくなった。やがてミランダが仕事の忙しさで家政婦を募集していることを知ったダニエルは一計を案じ、メイクアップアーティストの兄の手を借りて、イギリスの老婦人ミセス・ダウトファイアにすっかり変身する。持ち前の演技力と女装で見事にミランダを騙し、家政婦として最愛の子供たちのそばにいられることになるが、それは同時にこれまで家事全般を省みた事のないダニエルの、抱腹絶倒の奮闘記の幕開けであった。

ホワイトハウスの女性スキャンダルを追っていたテレビ局のジェニーは、「エリー」という名に行き当たる。だがそれは女性の名ではなく、「Extinction Level Event（種の絶滅を引き起こす事象）」の略だった。大統領は、1年後に未知の彗星が地球に衝突する可能性があることを公表。これを阻止すべく彗星を核爆発させて軌道修正するプロジェクトが実行されたが、結果は失敗。衝突が刻一刻と迫る中、ついに大統領は地下に選ばれた100万人だけを移住させる計画を発表するのだった。

大都市LAの中心部に突然出現した火山から流れ出る溶岩流と、それに立ち向かう人々の姿をSFXを駆使して描いたパニック・スペクタクル。登場人物ひとりひとりのドラマの演出が秀逸。

地上135階、シスコにそびえ立つ超高層ビル“グラス・タワー”落成式の日。規格外の製品を使ったために起きた出火はやがて巨大な炎となり、最上階に何百人も閉じ込めたままビルを飲み込む。

2011年3月11日午後2時46分、マグニチュード9.0の地震が発生し、それに伴う巨大な津波が福島第一原子力発電所を襲う。全ての電源が喪失して原子炉の冷却ができなくなりメルトダウン(炉心溶融)の危機が迫る中、現場の指揮を執る所長の吉田昌郎(渡辺謙)をはじめ発電所内にとどまった約50名の作業員たちは、家族や故郷を守るため未曽有の大事故に立ち向かう。

Kasi and Suni are close friends who studied together in an engineering college. Assi, who comes to Kerala to study engineering under the North East quota falls in love with Kasi. Certain incidents that follow set Kasi and Suni on a road trip to Nagaland on two motorcycles. The incidents that happen during this road adventure forms the film.

Yuan Xiangqin, a high school student, is deeply in love with Jiang Zhishu, her schoolmate. He rejects her, only for them to live together when the house that she resides in collapses.

Amaram is the story of Achootty (Mammootty), a fisherman and his daughter, Radha (Maadhu). The uneducated Achootty wants his daughter to be educated and also want her to become a doctor. His dreams get shattered when she falls in love with her childhood friend.

Raghavan, a farmer, raises his brother, Vijayakumar, and gives him an education. However, when he grows up and gets married to a rich woman, Vijayakumaran conveniently forgets about his brother.

Vijayan, the village school teacher, believes that his degree in economics is sufficient for him to succeed in the business ventures he undertakes. Taking long leaves of absence from work, he roams around with his schemes, all of which turn out to be downright failures.

Against his wishes, 'Cuba' Mukundan goes to Dubai to make good his father's alleged misappropriation of funds from the local cooperative bank. It is there that he learns the true meaning of the term 'working class' and realizes the irrelevance of the Communist movement back home.

Kochu Thresia, is a rich widow, who craves to 'live' life, but is alienated by her children who are caught in the rat race for making money. At this juncture, she meets the young, down-to-earth Reji (Jayaram) in whom she finds a companion. Reji eagerly fulfils all her wishes. From savouring the mouth-watering 'but forbidden' beef to riding on the elephant, they enjoy all the moments spent together. They even get arrested by the police for gambling. Meanwhile, in his efforts to control his alcoholic father Chacko (Innocent), from causing public nuisance, Reji takes over the fatherly role.

A few political goons, disguised as Muslims, cause trouble at the temple and kill Raghuraman's family. Later, Raghuraman joins an extremist group and decides to avenge his family's death.

Chacko master, a school headmaster, is never happy with his son, Thomas, and always degrades him. However, having had enough of him, Thomas runs away from home only to return as a gangster after long.

Best Actor is a movie about an ordinary school teacher who never gives up on his dream of becoming an actor.

Prabhakar Varma is appointed by the police to investigate the suicide of Omana, the daughter-in-law of a businessman. Varma decides to investigate further when all the clues reveal it was a murder.

The story revolves around three unemployed people who get involved in a kidnapping saga due to a case of mistaken identity.

Kunjoonju, Deepu and Ashtamurthy are studying hotel management at Pondichery. Kunjoonju is a 'Kanjirappally Achayan' who is always after girls. But his 'thrill' for a girl will end the moment he finds that she is interested in him. Abbas ,the trio's friend, arranges the top floor of a house for them to stay. The house is owned by Sophy and she she stays there with her two daughters Kamala and Padma. All three guys fall for Kamala, but Kunjunju and Deepu joins together and push Ashtamurthy out of the race by making him the 'Rakhi Brother' of Kamala. Kamala knows that Kunjunju is a flirt and so she tries to keep away from him. Deepu never tells about his love to Kamala or to Kunjunju, but Ashtamurthy knows about it. Kunjunju and Deepu falls apart after a fight and Ashtamurthy brings them together. The story takes a turn, when Sophy dies and the sisters are left alone

Sethumadhavan, the son of Achuthan Nair, a Police Constable who wishes to make his son an Inspector one day. Sethu, a recent college graduate, has many opportunities to enter different fields but he goes with his father's dream of becoming an Inspector.

Padmanabhan master and his wife are waiting for Unni, their only son who is missing for many years. 10 year old Unni got lost in the crowd during a temple festival where he was along with his neighbour Panikkar, popularly known as Poorappanikkar. Panikkar too did not return since he decided to return only after finding Unni. Ammu is Panikkar's daughter who also believes, like master and his wife, that her father will return one day with Unni. The master finds Unni and brings him back to the Village. The villagers realize that Unni is abnormal and is mentally challenged. He behaves like a small boy and creates all sorts of trouble for the villagers and his parents.

Chanthupottu is a 2005 Malayalam film directed by Lal Jose, written by Benny P. Nayarambalam, and produced by Lal. The story is about a man named Radhakrishnan who was brought up like a girl by his grandmother.

Unni (Dileep) has many debts and no way to repay them. He decides to commit suicide so that his parents can use the insurance money to repay the debts, but he is saved by a fisherman named Gangadharan (Cochin Haneefa) and his employee Ramanan (Harisree Ashokan). When they notice Unni drowning, Unni pretends to be deaf and mute so that he can fake his death and the insurance money reaches his family. Gangadharan however has a debt of his own, to a Punjabi family of money lenders who have settled in Kerala. He is forced to make Unni and Ramanan to work at their home until he can repay it. A series of interesting events follow after Unni meets Pooja (Mohini) at the house, who is deaf and mute.

A young woman is dumped by her boyfriend just before the wedding as she will not be inheriting any wealth from her father. When the girl's father pays her a visit, she hires a man to act like her husband.

Varavelppu is a 1989 Malayalam film directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. The film stars Mohanlal, Revathi Menon, Murali and Sreenivasan in lead roles. The film depicted trade union problems plaguing Kerala in a satirical dark comedy
