かつてこの地で魔女狩りが行なわれたという言い伝えのある町、ブライス・ホロー。この町に住む少年ノーマンは、死者たちと話せる特殊能力を持っていたが、そのせいで周囲からは変人扱いされ、家でも学校でもたえず居心地の悪い想いを味わっていた。そんなある日ノーマンは、ブレンダーガストおじさんから奇妙な話を聞かされる。それは、300年前に封印された魔女の魂が悪霊を呼び、町を滅ぼそうとしているというものだった。

苛酪な拷問や刑罰が行なわれていた徳川時代。一人の女が墓を掘り起し、男の腹を引裂いて鍵をつかみだした。「これで女に戻れる」と呟きながら、その女は数日前の出来ごとを思い浮べていた。両親に先立たれた由美は、残された借金返済のため、与力鮫島の口ききで大黒屋に奉公した。しかし、そこは刺青女がたむろする異様な売春宿だった。女主人のお竜は、異常な女で由美の体にひかれていた。そして、由美の肌に惚れこんで墨を入れる刺青師彫秀をねたみ、昼夜となく由美を愛撫した。ある日、縛られた由美が弦造に襲われ貞操を奪われた。しかし事はすぐ発覚、お竜は由美を独占するため、貞操帯をはめてしまった。それから、お竜の口ききで彫辰が墨を入れはじめた。やがて、将軍上覧の刺青競演会が開かれ、由美の肌で競いあった彫辰の“水門破り”と彫秀の“吉祥天女”は甲乙つけがたく引分けとなった。それからというもの各藩の重役たちが、大黒屋を訪れるようになった。由美が弦造の子を妊んだ事に気づいたのはそんな折、子供産みたさに貞操帯の鍵を呑みこんで殺れた弦造の墓を掘り起したのだった。しかし、由美はすぐさま捕われ、火責め刑に処せられた。刺青女の噂は異国人の間にもひろまり、墨を入れた女囚たちが続々と長崎へ送られた。鮫島が金儲けを企む領事と結託したのはそんな折だった。鮫島は江戸一の刺青師彫五郎を殺し、その罪を負わされた彫秀は島流しに処せられた。一方お竜は、生娘のお鈴に目をつけ、彫辰に墨を入れさせて、長崎へ送った。しかし、辱めを受けたお鈴は服毒、島破りをして長崎に来た彫秀に一部始終を話すと息をひきとった。復讐を誓った彫秀はクレイトンの娘を誘拐、無理やり墨を入れた。領事館で刺青競演会が開かれた時、彫秀作の“人間ハリ鼠が”登場して、場内は騒然となっこ。だが、その時会場に突然火の手が上り、彫秀に追いつめられたクレイトン、鮫島、彫辰たちは火に包まれた。そして、その場を逃れたお竜も追手に捕われ処刑された。

出版代理人のジャックは、得意の嘘と話術で多くの仕事を成功に導いてきた。だが、自分のためならどんな嘘でも平気でついてしまうようになっていた。そんなある日、彼は人気のスピリチュアル指導者のシンジャと知り合う。すると、自宅の庭に謎の巨木が突如現れる。しかも、不思議なことにこの巨木は、ジャックが一言発する度に葉を一枚ずつ散らしていく。シンジャはこの巨木の葉が全て散った時、ジャックの命も失われてしまうと彼に告げる。これを聞いて、ジャックは言葉を発することをやめるが、当然上手くはいかず、葉はどんどん散っていく。遂にはジャックの態度に怒った妻が子供を連れて出て行き、更には職までも失う。この事態に、一時は自暴自棄になったジャックだったが、シンジャの言葉をきっかけに、嘘の言葉で満ちた自分の人生を見つめ直していく。そして、残されたわずかな言葉で、妻や老いた母など周りの人々に想いを伝える。最後にジャックは、幼い時に家族を捨てて出て行った父の墓の前に立ち、父に向って「許す」と告げる。この言葉で全ての葉が落ち、ジャックは苦しんで倒れる。そこに事情を知るジャックの部下アーロンから電話がかかって来る。アーロンは、全ての葉が散って死を迎えるだけと思われた巨木が生き返り、葉を付けただけでなく、花まで咲いていることを伝える。ジャックは助かったのである。 生まれ変わったジャックは今回の経験をもとに「1000の言葉（A Thousand Words）」という本を著す。代理人はかつての部下アーロンである。そしてジャックは、妻が望んでいた子育て向きの家を購入し、妻子と再出発する。

It's summertime, and Greg Heffley is looking forward to playing video games and spending time with his friends. However, Greg's dad has other plans: He's decided that some father-son bonding time is in order. Harold Skolnick needs help from his uncle Lewis, the hero of the first two movies. Lewis, however, are not too proud of his nerd past, and won't reveal any of it, much less help his nephew. However, his wife makes him change his mind, and with help from his friends from the first two movies, they start the fight to win the school back, using classic nerd tricks.

The members of the Lambda Lambda Lambda fraternity travel to Fort Lauderdale for a fraternity conference. They'll have to beat off the attacks of their rival frat, the Alphas, if they want to maintain their self-respect -- and, of course, if they want to get anywhere with the pretty girls!
