A German Documentary about the “village of friendship” that was created by American Veteran George Mizo to help the Vietnamese kids suffering from the Vietnam War.

主人公ジョニー・リコは、高校卒業後地球連邦軍に入隊して宇宙戦艦のパイロットを志望するカルメン・イバネスに憧れ、両親の反対を押し切って軍に入隊。優秀なカルメンは艦隊アカデミーへ、超能力者の友人・カールは情報部へ配属されるが、リコは機動歩兵隊へ配属され、訓練キャンプでしごかれる日々を送る。訓練中、自らの判断ミスにより同期一人を殉職させる事故を起こしたことで、一旦は軍隊をあきらめようとしたリコだったが、奇襲攻撃で故郷ブエノスアイレスが壊滅したため機動歩兵に復帰し、宇宙での戦いに加わる。

バイオレンス映画の巨匠サム・ペキンパー監督が、20世紀初頭のメキシコを舞台に滅びゆくアウトローたちの姿を描いた傑作西部劇。1913年、アメリカ・テキサスでの銀行強盗に失敗したパイクら強盗団はメキシコに逃走する。旧友ソーントンら賞金稼ぎに追われる中、メキシコ政府のマパッチ将軍の依頼で米軍用列車から武器を強奪するパイクたちだったが、マパッチの裏切りに遭い、仲間を人質に取られてしまう……。スローモーションに細かいカットを挿入するペキンパーのアクション演出は後続に大きな影響を与えた。出演はウィリアム・ホールデン、アーネスト・ボーグナイン。
