After the events at Lake Victoria, the prehistoric school of blood-thirsty piranhas make their way into swimming pools, plumbing, and a newly opened water park.

A group of friends take refuge in a deserted sanatorium after they are left stranded in a snowstorm. Later, the place becomes a death trap when man-eating cannibals surround them.

科学者エリザベスが、地球上の時代も場所も異なる複数の古代遺跡から共通のサインを発見した。それを知的生命体からのと分析した彼女は、巨大企業ウェイランド社が出資した宇宙船プロメテウス号で地球を旅立つ。2年以上の航海を経て未知の惑星にたどり着いたエリザベスは、冷徹な女性監督官ヴィッカーズ、精巧なアンドロイドのデヴィッドらとともに砂漠の大地にそびえ立つ遺跡のような建造物の調査を開始する。やがて遺跡の奥に足を踏み入れたエリザベスは、地球上の科学の常識では計り知れない驚愕の真実を目の当たりにするのだった……。

幼い頃に母を亡くした王女スノーホワイト。国中から愛される姫君だった彼女だが、父王が魔女ラヴェンナに惑わされ、新たな妃に迎えたことから運命が一変する。ラヴェンナは王を殺害して国を奪い、スノーホワイトを塔に幽閉してしまったのだ。やがて永遠の美と若さを得るため、成長した姫の心臓を奪おうとする魔女だったが、姫は間一髪で脱走、黒い森へ逃れる。魔女は森を熟知するハンター、エリックに姫の捕獲を命じる。

自由を重んじ、それを満喫しながら生きてきた作家のエヴァは、妊娠を機にそのキャリアを投げ打たざるを得なくなる。それゆえに生まれてきた息子ケヴィンとの間にはどこか溝のようなものができてしまい、彼自身もエヴァに決して心を開こうとはしなかった。やがて、美少年へと成長したケヴィンだったが、不穏な言動を繰り返した果てに、エヴァの人生そのものを破壊してしまう恐ろしい事件を引き起こす。

見た目はリーゼントでクールに決めるがシャイな純情男のJPは、4輪ドライブのスペシャリスト。少年時代に一目ぼれしたソノシーの影響でレースを始め、宇宙最速の座を賭けた5年に1度の祭典、REDLINEを制することを夢見ていた。天才メカニックで親友のフリズビーたちの応援を受け、JPは、戦車さながらの武装改造を施す個性豊かなライバルたちに立ち向かう。

大災害「セカンドインパクト」後の世界を舞台に、人型兵器「エヴァンゲリオン」のパイロットとなった少年少女たちと、第3新東京市に襲来する謎の敵「使徒」との戦いを描いたテレビアニメ『新世紀エヴァンゲリオン』（1995年 - 1996年）を、新たな設定とストーリーで「リビルド」（再構築）したものが『ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版』シリーズである。本作は2007年公開の『ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版:序』、2009年公開の『ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版:破』に続く第3作目にあたる。タイトルの「Q」は、当初は雅楽の用語「序破急」に由来する「急」とされていた。 シリーズ第1作『序』は、TVシリーズ第壱話から第六話までのストーリーをほぼ踏襲していたが、第2作『破』からは、TVシリーズ第八話から第拾九話を元にしつつも、新たな登場人物、エヴァンゲリオン、使徒などが加わり『新劇場版』独自のストーリーへとシフトしていった。そして本作『Q』では、前作から14年後の世界におけるNERVと反NERV組織「ヴィレ」の戦いなど、TVシリーズや旧劇場版とは全く異なるストーリーが展開される。
