イッシュ地方を旅するサトシとピカチュウ、そして旅の仲間アイリスとデントたち。一行は、“大地の剣”と呼ばれる城を中心に、かつて大地の民の王国として栄えたアイントオークの町にやって来た。そこでサトシたちは、人やポケモンにパワーを与える不思議な力を持った幻のポケモン、ビクティニと出会う。一方、大地の民の末裔ドレッドは、ビクティニのパワーを使って王国を復活させようとするが、その影響で町に異変が起こり……。
