とあるヨーロッパの王国。光に憧れるドブネズミのロスキューロは、城内に忍び込んだ際、女王に振る舞われたスープの中へ落ちてしまい、女王をショック死させ、地下牢へ追放されてしまう。一方、小さく痩せっぽちで、ひときわ耳の大きなハツカネズミのデスペローは、音楽と本を愛し、自由奔放に城内の生活を満喫していた。そんなある日、母親を亡くし悲しみに暮れるピー姫に恋心を抱いたデスぺローも、人間に恋をした罪で地下牢へと追放されてしまう。さらに、ロスキューロは姫の座を夢見る召使のミグと手を組み、ピー姫を誘拐する。それぞれの想いが巡る中、デスペローは、ピー姫の救出に立ち上がる！
