ロビン・ウィリアムズが、実在の医師に扮した感動ドラマ。“ユーモアによる治療が重要”という説を実践し、医学界の常識を覆した医学生パッチ・アダムスの半生を描く。人間味溢れるアダムス役をロビンが熱演。彼お得意のユーモアと温かな視点で、現代医学の問題点をさり気なく突く。自殺未遂の果て、自らの意志で精神科に入院したアダムス。彼はそこで目覚め、医学の道を志す。2年後、ヴァージニア大学の医学部に入学したアダムスは、規則に背いては患者をユーモアで楽しませていた。冷ややかな視線を向ける学部長や同僚を後目に、やがて彼は恋人カリンとともに、夢に見ていた無料治療院を開設するが・・・。

生徒会長で学校一ハンサムなザックは、プロム（卒業記念ダンスパーティー）の直前にガールフレンドのテイラーに振られてしまう。そんなザックに友人のディーンは「学校一冴えない女の子をプロム・クィーンに出来るか？」という賭けをもちかける。その賭けの対象になったのは黒縁メガネで根暗なレイニーだった。

かつては泥棒だったが、子どもが生まれてからまっとうになり、妻と息子の3匹で平穏な穴暮らしをしてきた、キツネのMr．FOX。だが、窮屈な穴ぐら生活を疑問に感じ、心機一転とばかりに丘の上の大木の家に引っ越す。実は丘の反対側には悪名高い人間の農場主3人が住んでいた。農場を見て野性の本能に目覚めたMr．FOXと動物仲間たちは、思わず農場から家畜を盗みだすように。怒った農場主たちはキツネ狩りを始める。
