ダニエル少年とミヤギ老人が空手を通して友情を育む姿を描く「ベスト・キッド」シリーズの第2弾。今回は舞台をミヤギの故郷、沖縄に移してミヤギに復讐を目論むグループとの対立を描く。ミヤギのもとに父親の危篤を知らせる手紙が届いた。彼は弟子のダニエル（マッチオ）を連れて、故郷の沖縄に戻る。だがそこには、かつて同じ女性を愛したがために宿敵となった男が、復讐のために待ちかまえていた……。

Jake, full of anger after his father's death, is just starting to find a place for himself at his new Orlando high school - until Ryan, head of an underground MMA fight club, picks Jake out as a prime opponent. After being trounced by Ryan in front of the entire school, Jake begins training under the firm, moral guidance of a MMA master, where he learns how to fight... and how to avoid a fight. But it becomes obvious that a rematch will be inevitable if Jake wants to stop Ryan and his bullying, once and for all.

フィラデルフィアの下町。無名ボクサーのロッキーは本業だけでは食えず、借金の取りたてを請け負って日銭を稼いでいた。そんなある日、世界チャンピオンのアポロが気まぐれで無名選手にチャンスを与えようと言い出し、無作為に選んだロッキーを挑戦者に指名する。降って湧いたチャンスを得て、ロッキーは想いを寄せる女性エイドリアンに、15ラウンド最後まで戦いぬくことで自分の愛を証明すると約束する。

アポロとの死闘で判定負けしたロッキーは、危険なボクシングから足を洗い、恋人エイドリアンと結婚。正業に就いて家庭を築こうとするが、ボクシング一筋に生きてきた彼はどんな仕事をしてもうまくいかない。一方、無名のロッキーをKOできなかったアポロはチャンピオンとしてのプライドを打ち砕かれ、評価も人気も失っていた。復讐に燃えるアポロはマスコミを使ってロッキーを挑発、再戦のリングに引きずり上げようと画策する。

ヘビー級王座についたロッキーは連戦連勝を重ね、愛する家族と幸福の絶頂へ。引退を考えだした矢先、新たな挑戦者クラバーが現われる。野獣のような闘志を持つクラバーを恐れる老トレーナーのミッキーは、ロッキーに対戦をやめるように進言するが、挑発に乗った彼は聞く耳を持たない。心労が重なるミッキーは試合前日、ついに心臓発作を起こして倒れてしまう。不安を抱えてリングに上がったロッキーは、無残に敗北してしまう。

徹底した科学トレーニングで作り上げられたソ連最強のボクサー、ドラゴが訪米。そのトレーナーである妻ルドミラは挑発的な発言を繰り返し、刺激を受けた元チャンピオンのアポロはロッキーをセコンドにエキシビションマッチに臨む。だが、恐るべき破壊力を持ったドラゴのパンチを受け、アポロはリング上で絶命してしまう。親友の死を目の当たりにしたロッキーは仇討ちを誓い、タイトルを返上して敵地モスクワへと乗り込む。

激戦を続けてきた影響で脳に損傷が見つかり、ボクシングからの引退を余儀なくされたロッキー。その上税理士の財産使い込みが発覚、破産したロッキーはかつて暮らした下町で無一文から再出発することになる。そんなある日、彼の前に若いボクサー、トミーが現われる。粗削りながらその才能に気付いたロッキーはトレーナーを引き受け、トミーは気鋭のボクサーに成長。だがマスコミはトミーを「ロッキーの操り人形」と書き立てる。

A small, turbulent town in Texas obsesses over their high school football team to an unhealthy degree. Jim Morris never made it out of the minor leagues before a shoulder injury ended his pitching career twelve years ago. Now a married-with-children high-school chemistry teacher and baseball coach in Texas, Jim's team makes a deal with him: if they win the district championship, Jim will try out with a major-league organization. 2020年。人間のボクシングに代わり、より暴力的な「ロボット格闘技」が人気を博していた。人間のボクシングが廃れたことで、将来を有望視されていたプロボクサーのチャーリー・ケントン（ヒュー・ジャックマン）も、今では中古のロボットを使ってプロモーターとして生計を立てていた。 ある日、昔捨てた妻が亡くなったという連絡が入る。残された息子のマックス（ダコタ・ゴヨ）の養育権について、妻の姉であるデブラ（ホープ・デイヴィス）とマーヴィン（ジェームズ・レブホーン）夫妻と話し合いをすることとなるが、夫妻が金持ちであることに気づいたチャーリーは、借金を返すためにマーヴィンに10万ドルで息子を渡すと持ちかける。マーヴィンは「旅行に行く3ヶ月の間、マックスを預かってもらう」という条件付きで承諾した。 しばらくして、チャーリーのもとにマックスがやってくる。前金の5万ドルを手にしたチャーリーは以前破壊された「アンブッシュ」の代わりに、中古の「ノイジーボーイ」を購入。マックスはチャーリーの幼なじみであるベイリー（エヴァンジェリン・リリー）の元に居候することになる。金で売られたことに気づいたマックスはチャーリーを嫌っていたが、ロボットとゲーム好きな彼は無理やり試合についていく。「ミダス」との試合は最初は優勢だったが、結局負けてしまい、ノイジーボーイもスクラップになってしまう。

テネシー州メンフィス。裕福な白人家庭の夫人リー・アンは冬の夜、近所の道を薄着で歩くアフリカ系少年マイケルを見かけ、同情して彼を家に泊める。家庭に恵まれないマイケルは最近、私立校に入学させられたが、すっかり落ちこぼれていた。リー・アンと家族は純真なマイケルに感心し、そのまま彼を家に住まわせて家族と同様に接する。やがて学力が改善したマイケルは、競技のルールも知らないまま入ったアメフト部で活躍していく。

1994年、マンデラはついに南アフリカ共和国初の黒人大統領となる。いまだにアパルトヘイトによる人種差別や経済格差の残る国をまとめるため、彼はラグビーチームの再建を図る。1995年に自国で開催するラグビー・ワールド・カップに向け、マンデラとチームキャプテンのピナールは、一致団結して前進する。

Calvin and his friends, who all live in an orphanage, find old shoes with the faded letters MJ connected to a powerline. One stormy night, they go to get the shoes when Calvin and the shoes are struck by lightning. Calvin now has unbelievable basketball powers and has the chance to play for the NBA.
