シノプシス
An elderly woman whose son disappeared years before refuses to move when her apartment building is turned into a college dormitory for male students, as she is convinced that he will return one day. She continues to live in the building after it becomes a dorm, and eventually grows attached to a troubled young student whom she comes to believe is her own grandson. When she finds out that the boy's father will be visiting him, she prepares herself to be reunited with the man she has convinced herself is her long-lost son.
When a high school teacher is asked a question in class about Jesus, her reasoned response lands her in deep trouble and could expel God from the public square once and for all.
東日本大震災で心に傷を負った福島県いわき市の女子高生・佐智は、友人や家族とどこか距離を置きながら、人にも恋にも無関心に生きてきた。幼い頃からバイオリンを続け、高校でも音楽部に所属する彼女は、文化祭で四重奏を披露するため日々練習に励んでいる。一方、震災で実家が帰宅困難地域となり、いわき市に避難してきた男子高校生・祐介は、当たり前の景色が失われてしまう現実に直面し、“美しい今”を絵画として残すべく描き始める。展覧会に出品する夕景画を描くため田園風景を訪れた彼は、そこで出会った佐智と惹かれ合っていく。

筒井康隆の小説『時をかける少女』が原作であるが、原作の物語の映画化ではなく、原作の出来事から約20年後を舞台に次世代の登場人物が繰り広げる物語を描く続編である。
高校二年生の梓川咲太（声：石川界人）は、空と海が輝く街・藤沢に暮らし、先輩であり恋人でもある桜島麻衣（声：瀬戸麻沙美）と心躍るような日々を過ごしている。しかしそんな日常が初恋の相手・牧ノ原翔子（声：水瀬いのり）の出現により一変。何故か中学生の翔子と大人の翔子との二人が存在しており、咲太はやむなく翔子と一緒に住むことになるが、大人翔子に翻弄され麻衣との関係がぎくしゃくしだす。そんな中、中学生翔子が重い病気にかかっていることが判明。咲太の傷跡が疼きはじめる。
周囲になじめない少女の唯一の楽しみは、猫に変身して好きな人に会いにいくこと。でもそんな毎日を続けるうちに、猫と人間の境界が次第にあいまいになり始め...。
