食中毒の発生したジェット機内のパニックをパロディ満載で描いたスラップスティック・コメディ。「JAWS／ジョーズ」に始まり「エアポート'75」「大陸横断超特急」など数々の作品がネタにされている。「ケンタッキー・フライド・ムービー」で注目を集め、近年では「裸の銃を持つ男」などでコメディ界に君臨し続けるトリオ“ZAZ”が手掛ける。
