失恋のショックで精神を病んで入院したロイド。それから20年、相棒ハリーは毎週彼を見舞い、ロイドの世話をしていたが、実はそれはロイドが20年をかけたドッキリだった。ようやく名コンビが復活するが、程なくハリーが腎臓病を患っていると発覚。さらに、ハリーの初恋の相手フリーダが彼の娘を産んでいたと分かる。今まで存在も知らなかった娘から腎臓を提供してもらおうと、2人は養子に出された彼女を捜す旅に出る。
