1950年。第二次世界大戦の終結による満州国の崩壊と国共内戦の終結により、共産主義国である中華人民共和国の一都市となったハルビン駅の構内。5年間にわたるソビエト連邦での抑留を解かれ、中華人民共和国に送還された「戦犯」達がごった返す中で、列から外れた1人の男が洗面所で自殺を試みる。男は監視人の手により一命を取り留めるものの、薄れ行く意識の中で幼い日々の頃を思い出していた。この男こそ清朝最後の皇帝にして満州国の皇帝、「ラスト・エンペラー」と呼ばれた愛新覚羅溥儀その人であった。

第一次大戦のさなか、ドイツ軍の捕虜となるマレシャル大尉とボアルデュ大尉。さまざまな階級の人間の集う収容所で、一緒になった連中とも打ち解けないままに、やがて脱走計画が企てられる……。

実体験を基に描かれた、O・ストーン監督によるベトナム映画。クリス・テイラーがベトナムにやって来たのは1967年。大学を中退してまでベトナムに志願したのは、次々と徴兵されてゆく彼と同年代の若者たちのほとんどが、少数民族や貧しい者たちだった事に対する義憤からであった。だが、いきなり最前線の戦闘小隊に配属されたテイラーにとって、戦争の現実は彼の想像をはるかに超えた過酷なものだった。

1965年、サイゴンにやって来た米軍放送の人気DJを通して間接的にベトナム戦争を描いた人間ドラマ。実在のモデル、エイドリアン・クロナウアーに扮したR・ウィリアムスのマシンガン・トークによる破天荒なDJぶりが痛快。ベトナム戦争ものとしては番外編に位置するが、戦場からの視点ではない所が興味深い。

映像化不可能といわれたフランク・ハーバートの大長編SF小説を、前作「エレファント・マン」で成功をおさめた鬼才デビッド・リンチ監督・脚本により映画化。“デューン”と呼ばれる砂の惑星アラキスを舞台に繰り広げられる勢力争いを壮大なスケールで描く。後にテレビ放映用にナレーションと未公開シーンを加えた長尺版も製作されており、日本では「デューン／スーパープレミアム［砂の惑星・特別篇］」というタイトルで紹介されている。（映画.com）

A beautiful temptress re-kindles an old romance while trying to escape her past during a tension-packed train journey.

After World War II, Antonia and her daughter, Danielle, go back to their Dutch hometown, where Antonia's late mother has bestowed a small farm upon her. There, Antonia settles down and joins a tightly-knit but unusual community. Those around her include quirky friend Crooked Finger, would-be suitor Bas and, eventually for Antonia, a granddaughter and great-granddaughter who help create a strong family of empowered women.

In the beginning of the 19th century, Johannes Elias Alder is born in a small village in the Austrian mountains. While growing up he is considered strange by the other villagers and discovers his love of music, especially rebuilding and playing the organ at the village church. After experiencing an "acoustic wonder", his eye color changes and he can hear even the most subtle sounds.

A group of German boys are ordered to protect a small bridge in their home village during the waning months of the second world war. Truckloads of defeated, cynical Wehrmacht soldiers flee the approaching American troops, but the boys, full of enthusiasm for the "blood and honor" Nazi ideology, stay to defend the useless bridge. The film is based on a West German anti-war novel of the same name, written by Gregor Dorfmeister.

In May of 1983, a man turns 49 and, with his 17-year old son, journeys to the village in Baden that he left 40 years before. He wants to discover what happened then, the truth about an affair his mother had with a young Polish prisoner of war, how the authorities came to learn of it, the lovers' arrest, and the aftermath. While his son takes Polaroid photographs, he retraces the steps of his childhood and interviews those who should remember. The story is disclosed in flashbacks that focus on the lovers (Paulina and Stanislaus), on a jealous and conniving neighbor, and on Mayer, the local SS commander who wants to find a way out of inevitable consequences.

はるか昔。闇の冥王サウロンは世界を滅ぼす魔力を秘めたひとつの指輪を作り出した。指輪の力に支配された中つ国では一人の勇者がサウロンの指を切り落とし、国を悪から救った。それから数千年の時を経た中つ国第3世紀。ある時、指輪がホビット族の青年フロドの手に渡る。しかし、指輪を取り戻そうとするサウロンの部下が迫っていた。世界を守るためには指輪をオロドルイン山の火口、“滅びの亀裂”に投げ込み破壊するしか方法はない。そこでフロドを中心とする9人の仲間が結成され、彼らは“滅びの亀裂”目指し、遥かなる冒険の旅に出るのだった。

オーク達の襲撃で離散してしまった「旅の仲間」達。フロドとサムは独力でモルドールの滅びの山への旅路を続けていた。荒涼とした景色が広がるをエミン・ムイル行くその2人の後を指輪の前の持ち主ゴラムが追跡していた。ゴラムを罠に掛けて捕らえた2人だが、すぐに殺そうと主張するサムに対し、フロドはエルフの綱につながれて苦しむゴラムを哀れに思い綱をほどく。フロドは情けをかけてゴラムを信じ、モルドールへの道案内を任せる事にする。

昼なお暗いモルドールの山。フロドが眠る隣でゴラムは、彼の“愛しいしと”たる指輪を初めて手に入れたときのことを思い出していた。彼はホビットの支族ストゥア族で スメアゴルと呼ばれていた。ある日、いっしょに川で魚を釣っていたデアゴルが川に落ちてたまたま指輪を拾う。スメアゴルはその指輪を見た瞬間に指輪に魅せられ、それを奪おうとしてデアゴルを殺してしまった。そのために村を追放された彼は、指輪だけを友に長い年月を過ごすうちに指輪の魔力に蝕まれ、徐々に心身ともに変貌し現在の姿になったのだ。眠りから目覚めたサムはゴラムの邪心を疑うが、フロドはそんなサムをいさめる。

Dominik is an ordinary boy. He's got loads of friends, the hottest girl in school, rich parents and money to spend on brand-name clothes. But one innocent kiss with a mate changes everything. He begins to isolate himself from the outside world, spending all his time on his computer. He meets an anonymous girl who introduces him to the "suicide room", a place from which there is no escape. Caught in a trap woven of his own emotions, Dominik becomes entangled in a web of intrigue and gradually loses what he cherishes most.

A few years back tragic events tied the fate of three Catholic priests. From then on they meet on every anniversary of the disaster to celebrate their survival. On an everyday basis they have their ups and downs. Lisowski works at the curia in a big city, has a career and is dreaming of the Vatican. Problem is, archbishop Mordowicz, an opulent church official who uses his political influence to build the largest sanctuary in Poland, gets in his way. The second priest, Trybus, is a village parson. He ministers to a poor community and gives in to human weaknesses more and more often. Kukuła is not faring well either. Despite his fervent faith, he loses the trust of his parishioners actually overnight. Soon the stories of the three clergymen are going to join once again.
