This short film satirizes theatrical opening nights.
大晦日の夜に行われたパーティで、トロイとガブリエラはデュエットする事になってしまう。初めて一緒に気持ちよく歌えた二人だったが何とか顔写真を交換したもののガブリエラは姿を消してしまった。そんな二人に運命の再会が待っていた。年明けにトロイの通うイースト高校に、転校生としてガブリエラがやってきたのだ。二人を強く引き付けたのはやはり音楽。しかし人気者のトロイを狙っている強烈なライバル、演劇部の部長で目立ちたがり屋のシャーペイ・エヴァンスがいた。トロイとガブリエラがミュージカルの応募掲示板の前にいるのを見つけたシャーペイは、二人がミュージカルに出るつもりではないかと疑っていた。

1919年。廃墟と化したパリのオペラ座で、かつての栄華をしのばせる品々がオークションにかけられる。時はさかのぼり1870年代。全盛期のオペラ座は大勢の客でにぎわう一方、仮面の怪人“ファントム”の出没で、人々が不安に陥っていた。そんな中、若きコーラスガールのクリスティーヌは、ファントムを自分の“音楽の天使”と信じて敬う。やがて彼女はファントムのおかげでチャンスをつかみ、一躍スターとなる。

Christopher Gill is a psychotic killer who uses various disguises to trick and strangle his victims. Moe Brummel is a single and harassed New York City police detective who starts to get phone calls from the strangler and builds a strange alliance as a result. Kate Palmer is a swinging, hip tour guide who witnesses the strangler leaving her dead neighbor's apartment and sets her sights on the detective. Moe's live-in mother wishes her son would be a successful Jewish doctor like his big brother.
The ups and downs in the lives and careers of a group of ambitious young actresses and show girls from disparate backgrounds brought together in a theatrical hostel. Centres particularly on the conflict and growing friendship between Terry Randall, a rich girl confident in her talent and ability to make it to the top on the stage, and Jean Maitland, a world weary and cynical trouper who has taken the hard knocks of the ruthless and over-populated world of the Broadway apprentice.

Rational, exacting, and self-controlled theater director, Henrik Vogler, often stays after rehearsal to think and plan. On this day, Anna comes back, ostensibly looking for a bracelet. She is the lead in his new production of Strindberg's A Dream Play. She talks of her hatred for her mother, now dead, an alcoholic actress, who was Vogler's star and lover.
In a touring Shakespearean theater group, a backstage hand - the dresser, is devoted to the brilliant but tyrannical head of the company. He struggles to support the deteriorating star as the company struggles to carry on during the London blitz. The pathos of his backstage efforts rival the pathos in the story of Lear and the Fool that is being presented on-stage, as the situation comes to a crisis.
