新居を手に入れたアダムとバーバラの夫婦は、自分たちが事故でもう死んでいることに気付かず、幽霊になったままその家に住み続け、しばらくしてその事実を知る。人間には空家に思えるその家に、オカルト好きの少女リディアら人間の一家が引っ越してくる。アダムたちは一家を脅して家から追い出そうとするが効果はない。アダムたちは呼ばないほうがいいといわれる人間退治が得意なゴースト、ビートルジュースを呼んでしまう。
