過去の記憶を失った男が、謎の組織に狙われるサスペンス・アクション。昔の記憶をなくしたタクシー運転手のジェリーは、周囲のちょっとしたことに国家の陰謀が隠されているという強迫観念に取りつかれていた。ある日、女性弁護士アリスに陰謀が迫っていると悟った彼は、彼女に接近するが変人扱いされる。だがジェリーの勘は正しく、謎の組織が二人を狙いはじめる。しかも、ジェリーがかつて特殊部隊の工作員だったことが判明する。

After his mother's death, 17-year-old Sven moves in with his dad Achim, a taxi driver, who had divorced his mother several years earlier. Why, she wonders, does he always hang around with young boys? Why does not he have any friends his own age? She suspects that he is gay. The truth, however, is somewhat more nuanced - and chilling: Sven has pedophile tendencies. Proof is soon found on videos that shock and sicken Achim. Sven himself is shattered and regrets his actions. Julia suggests therapy, but Achim is convinced that he and Sven can handle this together. But he is wrong. Though Sven practically begs his father to lock him up in his room, Achim has confidence in his son.

地球という星の、ロサンゼルス、ニューヨーク、パリ、ローマ、ヘルシンキという5つの都市で、5人のタクシー・ドライバーが乗客を乗せた。同じ夜にそれぞれに繰り広げられる5つの物語。本作はジャームッシュの作品に共通して見られる奇妙な可笑しさ、卓越したセンスが冴える会話に加え、背景に広がる空しさに満ちた荒涼感は健在であり、その独自の雰囲気で好き嫌いがハッキリと二分される彼の作品にしては割りと門戸が広く、様々な人が楽しめる作品に仕上がっている。特に、ニューヨークが舞台の話と、ロベルト・ベニーニ主演によるパリの話がお勧め。
