私立のラシュモア高校に通う行動派生徒のマックスは、並行して20前後の課外活動をこなすという忙しい毎日を送っているが、肝心の学業は不振。高校に新たに赴任した女性教師クロスに好意を抱くが、高校に無断で水族館を建てようとしたせいで退学となり、公立校に転校することに。クロスを忘れられないマックスだったが、自分の大人の友人であるブルームに彼女を取られてしまったせいで、次第に自暴自棄になっていく。
