Erotic Symphony (1980)

A general store clerk and aspiring detective investigates a mysterious disappearance that took place quite close to an empty insane asylum.

A young psychiatrist applies for a job at a mental asylum, and must pass a test by interviewing four patients. He must figure out which of the patients, is in fact, the doctor that he would be replacing if hired.

ベルギーに住む有名な医者パン・デル・マル博士の娘であるガブリエルは尼僧になる決意をし、家を出た。恋人への思いも断ち切り、修道院入りする。 修道院で志願者となったガブリエルは修道女の戒律を学び、五日後には修道志願女となり数ヶ月に及ぶ厳しい戒律生活に身を投じる。戒律と懺悔の日々。あまりの厳しさに脱落していく志願女がいる中、ガブリエルは見習い尼になる。その前夜、髪を短く刈られ、またそれまで自分と俗世との唯一のつながりであった、恋人から贈られた金飾りのついたペンを投げ捨てた。俗世との完全な別離の瞬間であった。ガブリエルはシスター・ルークという名を与えられ、正式の尼僧になるべく修行を続ける。

「怪談」の小林正樹監督が三船敏郎と初タッグを組み、1967年・第28回ベネチア国際映画祭で国際映画批評家連盟賞を受賞した時代劇。同監督作「切腹」の原作小説「異聞浪人記」で知られる滝口康彦の短編小説「拝領妻始末」をもとに橋本忍が脚色を手がけ、武家社会の非人間性を描く。会津松平藩馬廻り役の笹原伊三郎は、主君・松平正容の側室いちを長男・与五郎の妻に拝領するよう命じられる。息子の幸福な結婚を願う伊三郎は断ろうとするが、藩命に背くことはできず受け入れることに。望んだ結婚ではなかったものの、与五郎といちの間には愛情が芽生え、子どもにも恵まれる。しかし正容の嫡子が急死したことから、新たな世継ぎとなった菊千代の生母であるいちを大奥へ返上するよう命令が下される。

A young psychiatric nurse goes to work at a lonesome asylum following a murder. There, she experiences varying degrees of torment from the patients.

London, 1761. St. Mary's of Bethlehem, a sinister madhouse, is visited by wealthy people who enjoy watching the patients confined there as if they were caged animals. Tells the story of Fisher Willow, the disliked 1920s Memphis débutante daughter of a plantation owner with a distaste for narrow-minded people and a penchant for shocking and insulting those around her. After returning from studies overseas, Fisher falls in love with Jimmy, the down-and-out son of an alcoholic father and an insane mother who works at a store on her family's plantation.

The young Bavarian princess Elisabeth, who all call Sissi, goes with her mother and older sister Néné to Austria where Néné will be wed to an emperor named Franz Joseph, Yet unexpectedly Franz runs into Sissi while out fishing and they fall in love.

Sissi is now the empress of Austria and attempts to learn etiquette. While she is busy being empress she also has to deal with her difficult new mother-in-law, while the arch-duchess Sophie is trying to tell the emperor how to rule and also Sissi how to be a mother.

After a wonderful time in Hungary Sissi falls extremely ill and must retreat to a Mediterranean climate to rest. The young empress’ mother takes her from Austria to recover in Madeira.

シカゴ郊外の刑務所（ジョリエット刑務所）を出所したジョリエット・ジェイクと、彼を迎えに来た弟のエルウッドは、兄弟を育ててくれた孤児院に出所の挨拶に行くが、そこで、孤児院が5000ドルの税金を払えないため立ち退きの瀬戸際にあることを知る。孤児院の危機を救うため援助を申し出る二人だが、犯罪で得た汚れた金は要らないと逆に院長に追い払われてしまう。

第二次世界大戦の最中、人一倍愛国心に燃えるスティーブ・ロジャースは兵士に志願し国の為に尽くしたかったが背も低く虚弱な体から兵士として認められず悶々としていた。ある日知り合った戦略科学予備軍の科学者であるエイブラハム・アースキン博士にその愛国心と強く正しい心を認められスーパーソルジャー計画の候補として実験被験者として選ばれ、超人血清を打たれスティーブは屈強なほぼ不死身の超人として生まれ変わる。

唐王朝滅亡後、王家には悪意と策謀が満ちていた。王は妃に毒の入った薬を飲ませ、妃は衰弱の一途を辿る。一方、皇太子には想いを交わす娘がいたのだが……。巨匠チャン・イーモー監督作。

Based on the autobiographical work of New Zealand writer Janet Frame, this production depicts the author at various stage of her life. Afflicted with mental and emotional issues, Frame grows up in an impoverished family and experiences numerous tragedies while still in her youth, including the deaths of two of her siblings. Portrayed as an adult by Kerry Fox, Frame finds acclaim for her writing while still in a mental institution, and her success helps her move on with her life.
