Nick is the director of a low-budget indie film. He tries to keep everything together as his production is plagued with an insecure actress, a megalomaniac star, a pretentious, beret-wearing director of photography, and lousy catering.
とある田舎町の森に火の玉が墜落する。目撃したホームレスの老人が好奇心から現場に向かうが、そこで粘液状の物体に腕を取りつかれてしまう。 そこへデート中のメグとポールが通りあわせ、老人を病院へ運ぶが、老人は物体に喰い尽くされ、ポールも犠牲となる。目撃したメグは一部始終を訴えるが信じて貰えず、保安官は町の不良少年ブライアンの仕業だと疑う。

アッテンボロー監督による、喜劇王チャーリー・チャップリンの生涯を描いた作品。映画は、チャップリンが幼少の頃から、名門カルノー一座の看板俳優時代、そしてハリウッドでの映画製作、富と名声を得、やがて映画「チャップリンの独裁者」の製作に纏わる国外追放、終戦後のアメリカへの帰国から白髪のはえるまで、彼の一生を克明に追って行きながら、その中での孤独、悲しみ、苦しみ、さらには母、兄弟、恋人などの彼に関わる人物をも含み、チャップリンの人生の軌跡を描いてゆく。

The movie portrays the story of an Italian family emigrated in Germany in the 1970s. Romano (Gigi Savoia), the father, decides to open a pizzeria which, by mutual decision with the wife Rosa (Antonella Attili), will call Solino, leaving his sons Gigi and Giancarlo to work there.
