シノプシス
The Recruits follows a group of children as they go through a national, youth-oriented military program called The Young Marines. The children try their best not to crack under the enormous pressures put on them by the program and their parents.
英・米・ケニアの各軍により、ケニアの首都ナイロビに潜伏するテロリスト一味を捕まえる合同作戦が開始。ロンドンにいる英軍のパウエル大佐らの指揮のもと、米軍のワッツが操作するドローン“MQ‐9リーパー”はナイロビ上空へ。だが、現地の工作員たちは小型ドローンを使い、一味が新たなテロを準備していると確信。関係者たちはテロを阻止しながらも現地の民間人たちを巻き添えにしないという、困難な課題に直面させられる。
アメリカ空軍のトミー・イーガン少佐は、F-16戦闘機のパイロットから無人戦闘機の操縦士に転身し、政府のテロリスト掃討作戦に貢献してきた優秀な軍人である。しかしトミーはやるせない違和感に囚われていた。ラスベガス郊外のマイホームと砂漠の空軍基地を車で毎日往復し、エアコンが快適に効いたコンテナ内のオペレーションルームにこもって、圧倒的な破壊力を誇るミサイルをクリックひとつで発射する。音声の出ないモニターだけで戦場の状況を確認するその任務は、まるでゲームのように現実感が欠落しているのだ。CIAの対テロ特殊作戦に参加したトミーは、度重なる過酷なミッションにじわじわと精神を蝕まれ、愛妻モリーとの関係までも冷えきっていく。
ヴァージニア州の町で生まれ育ったデズモンド・ドスは、第２次世界大戦が激化し周囲の人々が次々出征する中、彼は人を殺さず助けるならと衛生兵として陸軍に志願する。厳しい訓練には耐えていたが、銃に触れることを断固拒絶し上官と兵士たちの嫌がらせが始まる。恋人ドロシーとの結婚式の日、銃の訓練を終了せねば休暇は許可しないと言われ、命令拒否として軍法会議にかけられるが最終的に主張は認められる。1945年、沖縄。「ハクソー・リッジ」に到着した第77師団の兵士たちだったが武器を持たない彼はには過酷な戦いが待ち受けていた。
