1959年9月。ライデル高校の不良少年グループ《T・バーズ》のリーダーであるダニーは3年生になるが、夏休みにバカンスに行った先で恋に落ちた少女、サンディと突然再会して驚く。彼女は父親の転勤で、ダニーの高校に転校してきたのだ。仲間たちの手前、はしゃぎすぎないよう心がけるが、サンディといられることを内心喜ぶダニー。2人は時に気持ちがすれ違いケンカすることもあるが、新たに恋を育んでいく。
