遠い昔、遙か彼方の銀河では帝国軍の独裁体制が敷かれていた。反乱の機会をうかがう惑星アルデラーンのレイア姫は暗黒卿ダース・ベイダーに捕らえられるが、その寸前に二体のドロイドR2-D2とC-3POを砂漠の惑星タトゥイーンに送り込む。偶然にもそのドロイドを手に入れた青年ルークは、ジェダイの騎士団の一人オビ＝ワン・ケノービや密輸船ミレニアム・ファルコンの船長ハン・ソロたちと共に、反乱軍と帝国軍の闘いに巻き込まれていく。
オーストラリア、グレートバリアリーフ。広大な海の中でカクレクマノミの400個の卵が孵化しようとしていた。しかし、無事に生まれたのは母親の命と引き換えに助かったたった1つだけ。父マーリンは、この子を“ニモ”と名付け、同じ悲劇を繰り返さないと誓い過保護なまでに大事に育てていく。そして6歳になったニモに、初めて学校へ行く日がやって来る。しかし、突然の悲劇がニモを襲う。彼は、人間のダイバーにさらわれてしまったのだ。打ちひしがれるマーリンだったが、陽気なナンヨウハギ、ドリーの助けを借りてニモを取り戻す旅へと出るのだった。
17世紀、海賊たちが大海原を荒らしまわっていた遥かなる時代。カリブ海の港町ポートロイヤル。美しい総督の娘エリザベスはかつて海上で助けた少年ウィルが身につけていた黄金のメダルを手に入れ、今も密かに保管していた。そんなある日、突然ブラックパール号に乗ったキャプテン・バルボッサ率いる冷酷な海賊たちが町に現われ、エリザベスがさらわれてしまう。海賊の目的は、彼女がその時身につけていた例のメダルだった。一方、鍛冶屋で働く逞しい若者へと成長したウィルは、幽閉されていた元ブラックパール号船長で一匹狼の海賊ジャック・スパロウと手を組み、エリザベスの救出に向かうのだが…。
幼くして両親を亡くし、伯父夫婦のもとで大切に育てられたピーター。高校3年生となった彼は、6歳の頃からずっと思いつづけている隣家のメリー・ジェーンに未だに打ち明けることができないちょっと冴えない高校生。ある日ピーターは親友のハリーから彼の父親ノーマン・オズボーンを紹介される。ノーマンは巨大軍需企業オズコープ社の経営者にして天才科学者。ノーマンはピーターの科学の才能を高く評価、彼に目を掛けるようになる。そんなピーターは、大学の研究所を見学した際、遺伝子組み換えでスーパースパイダーとなったクモに刺されてしまう。その瞬間、ピーターの身体に異変が起こり始める。

両親を亡くし叔父のベンと叔母のメイの許で育てられたピーターは、ある日自分の父親が残したバッグに隠された資料をみつける。父について知りたいピーターは父の研究者仲間だったコナーズ博士に近づき博士の授業に参加する。しかし単独で行動し侵入した部屋で遺伝子の組みかえられたクモに刺され、博士の下で勉強している同級生のグウェンに追い出される。その帰りの電車の中でピーターは驚異的な力に目覚める。
