Agents Are Forever - The Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra (2020)

将来は音楽プロデューサーになりたいベッカは、教授である父親の勧めでバーデン大に入学。キャンパスライフに何も期待していなかったが、かつて人気も実力もあったが、今や廃れつつあるアカペラ部“ベラーズ”の先輩クロエにスカウトされ、同部に入部する。そこには自ら“ファット（おデブ）”と名乗るエイミーら個性的な面々が集まり、最初は息が合わなかったが、やがて彼らは全国大会出場を目指して全力で練習に励むようになる。

ハリウッド映画の主題歌やメインテーマは、どのようにして生まれるのか。映像からイメージされた旋律が、オーケストラの演奏などを通じて映画音楽になる過程を取材。ピアノのシンプルなメロディーが『E.T.』のテーマ曲へと変わっていく様子や、『ライオン・キング』でオスカーを受賞し、数多くの大作に携わってきたハンス・ジマーの苦悩など、知られざる映画音楽の裏側を明らかにする。

25年にわたり全ての宮崎駿監督作品の音楽を手掛けてきた久石譲。最新作『崖の上のポニョ』の公開を記念し、2日間にわたり日本武道館で開催された一大音楽イベントを全曲収録。200名のオーケストラ、800人の合唱団、160人のマーチングバンド、素晴らしいゲストヴォーカリストと総勢1160人もの大規模編成による演奏と、巨大スクリーンに映し出される宮崎アニメが織りなすスペクタクルな世界を堪能できる。
