Fiona Shaw narrates this exploration of Russia's medieval origins through to its bloody expansion to become the biggest country in the world. It's a tale that set the scene for one of the world's most enigmatic figures, and his vision of modern Russia. From a tyrannical grip on ordinary citizens to rampant corruption at the highest level, this film reveals the secrets behind holding the world's largest country together in a narrative that takes in the KGB and its ancestors as well as Stalin, murder and gulags.
1930年代、大不況のアメリカ。長距離トラックの運転手ジミー・ホッファは、低賃金で過度の労働を強いられる長距離トラック運転手たちの組合“チームスター”を組織した。彼は経営者側との対立や抗争に備えマフィアに接近し力を借りるようになる。やがて第二次大戦が終わるとアメリカ経済は繁栄期を迎え、ホッファはますます組合の中での地位を固め、更に彼はマフィアへ資金援助をするなど関係を深めていく。
ブルース・リーの生涯をリンダ夫人の著書「ブルース・リー・ストーリー」と『燃えよドラゴン』の監督ロバート・クローズの著書“Bruce Lee: The Beginning”を原作に映画化。 ブルース・リーが自分や息子ブランドンを狙う悪魔の幻影を見るという場面を折り込む事によって、彼の悲劇的運命を強調する効果を上げている（ブランドン・リーもこの映画の公開前に事故死した）。 ブルース・リーを演じたジェイソン・スコット・リーはこれ以来、ブルース・リー本人も行っていた截拳道のトレーニングを行なっている。

第2次世界大戦末期の1945年2月、連合軍は敗走するドイツ軍を追ってライン川に迫った。ドイツ軍は、天然の要害であるライン川を盾にして防御するしかなく、連合軍もライン川を渡河すべく、無傷の橋を目指していた。
ブロック将軍は上司から、担当地区に残る橋を全て爆破するように命じられたが、川の向こうには7万5000人の兵が残されており、この友軍が撤退できるようレマゲン鉄橋をぎりぎりまで残し、連合軍が間近に迫ってから破壊しようとする。将軍は腹心の部下、クリューガー少佐を橋防衛部隊の指揮官に任命し、連合軍が橋の目前まで迫るまで爆破しないように指示する。
クリューガー少佐が橋に赴くと、書類上では1600名の兵員が実際はほとんどおらず、爆破のための爆薬すら無い逼迫した状況であった。少佐は、爆破の準備や橋の防衛陣地の構築とともに増援部隊の派遣を要請するが、いくら要請しても生返事ばかりで一向に援軍が来る気配は無い。そうしているうちに、アメリカ軍のバーンズ少佐指揮の機甲歩兵大隊に所属する先遣隊が橋の間近まで迫り、橋をめぐる攻防戦が始まる。
曹操の元へ男装して潜入していた孫権の妹・尚香は、疫病で亡くなった兵士たちの死体が船に積まれ、連合軍のいる対岸へ流されていく光景を目撃する。死体に触れた連合軍の兵士から次々と疫病が感染し、曹操の非情なやり方に周瑜をはじめ、連合軍は憤りを感じ、劉備軍は自軍の兵と民のために撤退を決意するが、孔明はただひとり戦地に残るのだった。
