夏を過ごそうと田舎町で下宿するハンバートに、未亡人シャーロットは積極的だが、当のハンバートは彼女の娘・ロリータに心奪われていた。やがてハンバートとシャーロットは結婚するが、夫が娘を愛してる事を知ったシャーロットは逆上のあまり事故死してしまう。心置きなく二人だけの暮らしと相成るはずだったが、近所の視線も気になり、ハンバートはロリータを連れて車で旅に出るのだが……。

D・クローンネンバーグがセックスをテーマに取り上げ、カンヌ映画祭でその評価が賛否真っ二つに別れた問題作。CFプロデューサーのジェームス・バラードと妻のキャサリンはある日、出張で空港へ向かう途中ハイウェイ上で正面衝突事故を起こす。相手のドライバーは死亡。助手席に乗っていた女性ヘレンはジェームスと共に病院に担ぎ込まれる。やがて回復した2人だったが、彼らは事故の衝撃を通して思わぬ性的興奮を感じていた。そんな中、事故の体験により新しいエクスタシーを開拓した人々がいる事を知った彼らは、次第にその世界にのめり込んでゆく……。

タルコフスキーとコンチャロフスキーという、旧ソ連の枠を脱して活躍することになる二大俊英が協力して脚本を執筆し、中世ロシア史上最高のイコン画家ルブリョフを主人公に、当時の社会と民衆の関わりを巨視的に捉えた歴史大作で、全体で二部構成。冒頭の、巨大な気球での飛行を試みる男たちの描写が象徴する閉鎖的な時代に、信仰と芸術の力によって風穴を開けたのがルブリョフと言える。彼は同窓の僧侶キリールに陥れられかけ、逆に大公の覚えめでたく宮廷画家となるが、連日、寺院の白い壁に向かい一筆も動かさない。神の愛を描きたいと願う彼の眼に時代は暗く映りすぎた。そして、公弟にそそのかされたタタール人が城を襲う（ここからが第二部）。ルブリョフは白痴の少女を救おうとして敵兵を討ち、後悔から筆を絶ち、修道院に戻るが、誰とも口をきかない。今や落魄の身のキリールとの再会……。ロシアはなお暗黒の中にあったが、大公は巨大な鐘の鋳造で威信回復を図る。今はなき名人の息子ボリースカの指導によって作業は開始され、ルブリョフはそれを興味深く見守る。秘訣を父に教わったという少年だが、実は鐘を作りたいばかりについた出まかせで、ようやく大鐘完成の暁に彼は真実を泣きながらルブリョフに明かす。彼は少年を賞賛し、自らも励まして言った。“君と一緒にやって行こう”……。１５年にわたる無言の行の末、最初に出た言葉がそれであった。彼は再び絵筆をとり、その後、それまでの白黒とうって変わった鮮やかなカラーで写し出される偉大な作品群を残したのである。観ることが主人公の忍従に重なるような重厚な作品だが、それ故にラストの解放感は筆舌に尽くし難い。丸裸の自己と神--という一対一の構図を発見するまでの確執を描くのは、後のタルコフスキー作品にも通じるテーマだ。

Three stories happening in New York. The first, by Scorsese, is about a painter who creates his works helped by high volume music and an attractive assistant; second, by Coppola, is about a rich and bold 12 years old who helps her separated parents to reconciliate; third, by Allen, is a witty piece of comedy about the impossibility of getting rid of the son's role.

Based on the true life experiences of poet Jimmy Santiago Baca, the film focuses on half-brothers Paco and Cruz, and their bi-racial cousin Miklo. It opens in 1972, as the three are members of an East L.A. gang known as the "Vatos Locos", and the story focuses on how a violent crime and the influence of narcotics alter their lives. Miklo is incarcerated and sent to San Quentin, where he makes a "home" for himself. Cruz becomes an exceptional artist, but a heroin addiction overcomes him with tragic results. Paco becomes a cop and an enemy to his "carnal", Miklo.

While visiting her sister in Paris, a young woman finds romance and learns her brother-in-law is a philanderer.

A lethal assassin for a secret Chinese organisation, who sheds tears of regret each time he kills, is seen swiftly and mercilessly executing three Yakuza gangsters by a beautiful artist. 文豪チャールズ・ディケンズの名作を現代風に映画化した作品。自分が出入りするお屋敷で暮らす美少女に恋する孤児の少年。やがて彼のもとには差出人不明のお金が送られてくるようになり……。

The husband begins to take an interest in the artistic work of the lover and coaches him for a big job interview. Little does he know that the job he's helping the lover to get is within his own company... A story about strange circumstances and the limits of friendship.

Ivan, a poor Russian student, lives in Switzerland. He is unexpectedly invited to Russia by a distant relative, Princess Wirsky. To finance the journey, he works as a messenger for revolutionaries who want to depose Grand Duke Wirsky. In Moscow, he delivers the message and falls in love with Marja, the daughter of the revolutionary, but Marja's father loves Princess Wirsky and wants to betray the revolutionaries. The princess falls in love with Ivan, and jealously deports Marja to Siberia. In revenge, Ivan strangles the princess. He spends the rest of his life yearning for Marja, whom he has never kissed. When he receives the news of Marja's death, he commits suicide.

The troublesome daughter of an American millionaire accompanies him aboard his yacht on a deep sea diving expedition in the Red Sea and falls in love with the captain.
