ジェンは友人5人とともにバージニア州の小さな町レンウッドを訪れた。アパラチア山脈の自然歩道でキャンプを楽しむためだ。自然歩道を満喫する一行だったが、好奇心からコースを外れて森の奥に入っていき、迷子になってしまう。仲間内で言い争いになりかけたその時、突如倒木が山上から転がり落ちてきて、一人が頭を潰され死んでしまう。気がつけば周囲は罠だらけ。彼らは“森”に囚われてしまったのだ。6週間後、消息を絶ったジェンを探しに父親スコットがレンウッドにやってくる。そこで彼が見たものとは……。
