ゴジラシリーズ第19作。「平成シリーズ」第4作。巨大隕石落下の影響により、海底で眠りについていたゴジラが目を覚ます。インファント島ではモスラの卵が発見され、日本に輸送される中、コスモスと名乗る小美人が現れ、バトラの復活を警告する。日本へ輸送中のモスラの卵は洋上でゴジラの襲撃を受けるが、卵からモスラが孵化し応戦。それに呼応するようにバトラが復活し、三つ巴の戦いの火ぶたが切って落とされる。
