World of Skinhead (1995)

常夏の地・ジャマイカから無謀にもボブスレーチームを組んで、88年カルガリー冬季オリンピックに参戦した男たちの実話を描いたスポ根コメディ。幼い頃から100m走でオリンピックを目指していた主人公が選考会で転倒の巻き添えを食い、出場不可能になってしまう。それでもオリンピック出場の夢を見る彼は冬季五輪のボブスレー競技のことを知り、幼なじみのお調子者や転倒事故で同じく夢破れた2人を巻き込んで、過去に2度金メダルを取ったアメリカ人選手をコーチに招いて練習を開始するのだった……。

パットがボーカルを務めるバンドは、車のガソリン代にも事欠く、売れないパンクバンド。彼らが極貧ツアーの中、ようやく出演することができたライブハウスは、なんとネオナチの根城だった。パットとバンドメンバーは、そこで殺人の現場を目撃してしまい、ネオナチ軍団から命を狙われる事態となってしまう。圧倒的に不利な状況で、グリーンルーム（英語で「楽屋」の意味）に閉じこもったパットたちは、アイデアと反骨精神を武器に極悪非道なネオナチ軍団に立ち向かう。

白人至上主義の極右組織“ネオナチ”のメンバーとなったある兄弟の悲劇を通し、現代アメリカの暗部を衝いてゆく。共演にエドワード・ファーロング。父を黒人に殺された恨みから、白人至上主義グループのメンバーとなったデレク。やがて殺人事件で刑務所送りになった彼が出所してきた時、デレクは自分を崇拝する弟がメンバーとなっている事実を知る。

フランスのアルプスの麓にある大学街ゲルノンで、目をくりぬかれ、両手を切断され、体中を鋭利な刃物で切りつけられた、胎児のような格好をさせられた遺体が地上50mの崖から発見される猟奇殺人事件がおきた。この事件の捜査に、パリ市警から元特殊捜査部隊のニーマンス警視が派遣される。殺害された男性から摘出された眼球は医学的な理にかなっており、このことからニーマンスは地元の眼科医にアドバイスを貰いに行く。しかし、そこで彼は眼科医からゲルノンの歪んだ風習を聞かされることになる。

Ivanhoe Martin arrives in Kingston, Jamaica, looking for work and, after some initial struggles, lands a recording contract as a reggae singer. He records his first song, "The Harder They Come," but after a bitter dispute with a manipulative producer named Hilton, soon finds himself resorting to petty crime in order to pay the bills. He deals marijuana, kills some abusive cops and earns local folk hero status. Meanwhile, his record is topping the charts.
