1873年、アリゾナ準州、一人の男（ダニエル・クレイグ）が真昼の砂漠で目ざめた。男は記憶を失なっており、右腹に深い傷を負っていた。身につけているのはボロボロの下着と、左手に嵌った奇妙な金属製の腕輪のみ。近くには見知らぬ女性が写った小さな写真が落ちていた。男は死に物狂いで腕輪を外そうとするが、どうしても外れない。そこに3人のならず者達が通りかかり、男が丸腰であるのを見て、追いはぎを行なおうとするが、逆に男は瞬く間に3人のならず者達を殺傷し、彼らの衣服、武器、荷物そして馬を奪う。

A zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in this reimagining of Jane Austen's classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England. 江戸時代末期。将軍・家慶の弟で明石藩主・松平斉韶（なりつぐ）の暴君ぶりは目に余った。斉韶は近く、老中への就任も決まっている男。幕府の存亡に危機感を募らせる老中・土井利位は、かねてより良く知る御目付・島田新左衛門に斉韶暗殺の密命を下す。さっそく、甥の新六郎をはじめ十一人の腕に覚えある男たちを集めた新左衛門は、後に加わる山の民・木賀小弥太を含む総勢十三人の暗殺部隊を組織、入念な計画を練り上げていく。しかし、斉韶の腹心・鬼頭半兵衛もまたその動きを抜け目なく察知し、大切な殿を守り抜くべく周到な準備を進めていた。

ジョニー・デップとのタッグでおなじみのティム・バートンが製作を務め、『ウォンテッド』のティムール・ベクマンベトフがメガホンを取ったアクション。第16代アメリカ合衆国大統領のエイブラハム・リンカーンがヴァンパイアを退治するハンターだったという奇想天外な設定のもと、人類の存亡を懸けたバトルが壮大なスケールで展開する。『父親たちの星条旗』などのベンジャミン・ウォーカーが、知られざる秘密と使命を抱えたリンカーンを快演。

ヨーロッパで連続爆破事件が発生。ホームズは泥棒のアイリーンが関わっていると推理して跡を追うが、彼女はオークション会場でシムという人物宛ての手紙を残して姿を消す。やがて、結婚を翌日に控えたワトソン医師がホームズの元を訪れるが、独身最後のパーティーを主催するはずのホームズは、探偵人生でもっとも重要な事件に没頭中。彼は世界で起こっている数々の事件の黒幕が、天才数学者で作家のモリアーティ教授だと考えた。

1858年、南北戦争前夜のアメリカ南部。鎖につながれ、馬車で運ばれる途中だった黒人奴隷のジャンゴは、賞金稼ぎのシュルツの手によって自由の身となり、お尋ね者たちを追う彼と行動をともにすることに。やがて2人は奴隷市場で互いに生き別れとなったジャンゴの愛妻ブルームヒルダを救出すべく、極悪非道な白人農園領主のキャンディと、彼にかしずく老獪な奴隷頭のスティーヴンのもとへ奴隷商人を装っていざ乗り込むの。

デヴィッド・ボウイの曲名から取られた映画タイトルでも示す通り、７０年代ロンドンのグラム・ロック全盛期を見事に描ききった話題の映画。ユアン・マクレガーと共に主役を演じ一躍スターの座に上りつめたジョナサン・リース・マイヤーズからしばらく目が離せません。

新進気鋭の若き弁護士ケヴィンはその才能と野心を認められ、NYのミルトン法律事務所に夢のような条件でスカウトされる。そして次第に失われていく良心……そこは、悪魔の巣窟だったのだ。

19世紀の半ば、スコットランドからニュージーランドへ写真結婚で嫁ぐエイダ。旅のお供は娘のフロラと一台のピアノ。エイダは6歳の時から口がきけず、ピアノが彼女の言葉だった。夫のスチュアートはそのピアノを重すぎると浜辺に置き去りにし、原住民に同化している男ベインズの土地と交換してしまう。ベインズはエイダに“ピアノ・レッスン”をしてくれればピアノを返すというが……。

時は1872年、まだ飛行機も出現していない時代。イギリスはロンドンの社交クラブで、英国紳士フォッグ氏はひょんなことから“８０日間あれば世界一周できる”という賭けにのり、なんと２万ポンドという大金を賭け、自ら大冒険に出ることになる。さっそくフォッグ氏はパスパルトゥーを従者に従えロンドンを出発する。マルセイユへ向かう途中、汽車が止まってしまい気球を調達して先を急ぐ。ところが気球は風に流されてスペインへ。そして、パスパルトゥーはそこで、闘牛をするハメになってしまう。

南北戦争時代のアメリカ。北軍の士官として参軍したネイサン・オールグレン大尉は南軍やインディアンと戦いの中、無関係のインディアン部族を攻撃し、子供たちを撃ち、良心の呵責に悩まされ酒浸りになる。日本の実業家の大村はバグリー大佐を介し軍隊の教授職として雇いに来ていた。当時の日本は明治維新で近代国家建設のために急速な近代的軍備増強が必要だった。多額の報酬に魅せられたオールグレンは、僚友ガントとともに日本に渡り、軍隊訓練を指揮する。

1899年、パリ。貧しい青年作家クリスチャンはナイトクラブ“ムーラン・ルージュ”に仲間と潜り込むが、一番人気の踊り子で上流階級相手の高級売春婦のサティーンと恋に落ちる。サティーンの機転で、クリスチャンは彼女が主演する新作舞台の台本を書くことになる。一方、資金繰りに困ったムーラン・ルージュのオーナーのジドラーは、資産家ウースター公爵から資金を引き出そうと、サティーンに彼の愛人になるよう強要する。

意地悪でごう慢な王様クスコは、魔女イズマの恨みをかってラマの姿に変えられてしまう。城を追われたクスコと、人のいい農夫パチャによる珍道中の物語。 とにかく楽しませてくれる逸品だ。ディズニー・アニメの中ではスケールの大きさこそないものの、ノリで勝負とばかりに、はじけたキャラたちが次々とギャグを繰り出す痛快コメディとなっている。たとえば、クスコとパチャのかけ合いや、魔女イズマと家来クロンクの悪役コンビはじつによい味を出している。特にクロンクのボケっぷりは爆笑必至だ。 本作は、わかりやすいキャラクター設定に、わかりやすいギャグが満載な気持ちのよい作品。ごう慢だった王様が何よりも大切な「友情」に気づくというテーマも作品に無理なくとけ込んでいる。作品がシンプルなだけに子ども向きかと思いきや、案外このテイストは、大人の方がハマってしまうのではないだろうか？

やくざと元締めが対立するさびれた宿場町。そこへ一人の浪人者がやってくる。立ち寄った居酒屋のあるじに、早くこの町を出ていった方がいいと言われるが、その男は自分を用心棒として売り込み始める。やがて男をめぐって、二つの勢力は対立を深めていく……。ハメットの『血の収穫』を翻案、時代劇に西部劇の要素を取り込んだ娯楽活劇。

A female fashion model Anni Stark takes leave from the fashion business and goes to Finland's Lapland for a vacation. Little does she know that there's a totally lunatic bunch of local hillbillies living in a nearby farmhouse. The plot thickens as one of the residents begins to harass Anni, who is left alone in the wilderness with only her dog to protect her. Too bad for her that her dog turns out to have divided loyalties.

地球という星の、ロサンゼルス、ニューヨーク、パリ、ローマ、ヘルシンキという5つの都市で、5人のタクシー・ドライバーが乗客を乗せた。同じ夜にそれぞれに繰り広げられる5つの物語。本作はジャームッシュの作品に共通して見られる奇妙な可笑しさ、卓越したセンスが冴える会話に加え、背景に広がる空しさに満ちた荒涼感は健在であり、その独自の雰囲気で好き嫌いがハッキリと二分される彼の作品にしては割りと門戸が広く、様々な人が楽しめる作品に仕上がっている。特に、ニューヨークが舞台の話と、ロベルト・ベニーニ主演によるパリの話がお勧め。

Terrence McDonagh is a New Orleans Police sergeant, who recieves a medal and a promotion to lieutenant for heroism during Hurricane Katrina. Due to his heroic act, McDonagh injures his back and becomes addicted to prescription pain medication. He then finds himself involved with a drug dealer who is suspected of murdering a family of African immigrants.
