シングル・マザーのマリサは、五つ星ホテル、ベレスフォードの優秀な客室係。ひとり息子タイを育てながら忙しく働く毎日。ある日、彼女は職場に同伴したタイを洗濯室に預け、同僚とスイートルームの清掃に取り掛かっていた。この時、宿泊者で社交界一のプレイガール、キャロラインからブランドものの服を店に返却するよう頼まれていたマリサは、その服をこっそり遊び心で試着する。そこへ突然、タイと共に何故か上院議員候補のクリスが現われる。行きがかり上キャロラインに成りすましたマリサは、タイとクリスと3人で散歩に出掛けることになってしまい…。
