番組撮影の為、故人である画家の住んでいた山奥のとある洋館を訪れたＴＶクルーたちに襲いかかる恐怖を描いたホラー。監督は伊丹十三に抜擢され、本作品によりメジャーデビューを果した黒沢清。キャスティングの奇抜さと、『エクソシスト』などの特殊メイクで知られる特撮界の大御所ディック・スミスを招いての最新のＳＦＸで話題を呼んだ。
