Masaaki Ōsumi (大隅 正秋) is a Japanese director known for his work in television and movie animations, most notably with his involvement with the early episodes of “Lupin the Third: Part 1” and later his directorial role for the Lupin III Television film “Lupin the Third: Voyage to Danger”.

ある夜、ルパンと次元はヘマをやらかしてしまい、警官隊に追われてアジトのある建物に逃げ込む。パトカーに建物を取り囲まれ、外の様子をうかがっていた2人であったが、後からやってきた銭形警部の指示でパトカーはすべて退却する。さらに銭形は単身ビル内に乗り込んでくる。銭形の行動に不信感を抱いていた2人であったが、銭形は懐から酒のビンを取り出し「一緒に飲まないか?」と酒を勧めてくる。理由を聞くルパンに対して、銭形は1枚の紙を手渡した。ルパンがその紙の内容に目を通すと、「銭形警部、貴君を7月23日[2]正午をもって、ルパン三世の専従捜査から解任する」というものであった。

The movie tells the story of Melos, a Greek country man that gets arrested and accused of conspiracy against the king. He gets three days to travel to his sister's wedding while Selinentius (Selinae), a genius sculptor that Melos just met stays as a hostage. As opposed to Osamu Dazai's original story, Melos is here innocent of the conspiracy accusation.
