2004年、イラクに駐屯しているスペイン人軍医パブロと、友人ディエゴ。ある日、二人は米軍の警護を受けながら、けがをした女性を病院に搬送する途中でテロリストの攻撃を受ける。2週間後にパブロはスペインの病院で意識を取り戻したものの、肝心の事件の記憶がすっぽり抜け落ちていた。
