In autumn 2013 Justin Hayward, the legendary lead singer, guitarist and songwriter for The Moody Blues embarked on a tour of the American East Coast following the release of his album 'Spirits Of The Western Sky'. It would mark only the second time in his long and illustrious career that he would tour as a solo artist. The shows combined tracks from the 'Spirits' album alongside a mix of classic and rarely heard Moody Blues songs and Justin's worldwide hit 'Forever Autumn'. The final night of the tour at Atlanta's landmark Buckhead Theatre was filmed for this release.

The band were at their creative and commercial peak after a succession of albums that had enjoyed unprecedented global success. Recorded live at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on June 11 during their 2005 World tour, in which they played New Zealand for the first time and returned to Australia, this rare live recording is pure Moody Blues. With the Moodies' unique brand of music that has kept them at the top of their profession for 40 years, and has maintained them as one of the biggest live touring acts of all-time, this is a truly sparkling performance from one of the world's greatest and best-loved rock bands.

Formed in 1964, the Moody Blues emerged as one of the most renowned bands of the psychedelic era. Between 1965 and 1973, the band had 7 Top-30 singles on the Billboard Pop Singles chart, including their classic "Nights In White Satin", which soared to #2 on the charts. After a 5-year hiatus, they returned in the late 70’s with several minor hits, until releasing "Your Wildest Dreams" in 1986, which peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart (and went #1 on the Adult Contemporary charts). The Moody Blues’ lone appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival occurred on July 3, 1991 at the Montreux Casino, while in support of their Keys Of The Kingdom album. The group (which includes long-time members Justin Hayward, Graeme Edge, John Lodge, and Ray Thomas) performs a number of their biggest hits, including "Gemini Dream", "Nights In White Satin", "I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock & Roll Band)", and "Your Wildest Dreams".

In 2003 Alan Simon created GAIA, a humanitarian concept album dealing with the preservation of the environment and for which many artists responded to the call: Midnight Oil, Justin Hayward of The Moody Blues, Zucchero, Jane Birkin, Cesaria Evora, Billy Preston and others. GAIA, was played before 60,000 spectators in Zurich in early 2004. The album entered the Top five in Australia. A special edition with bonus DVD was also released.
