Actress Zhang Ziyi, actor-and-director Wu Jing, comedian Shen Teng, and actor-and-director Xu Zheng come together to direct four short films as part of a new anthology drama paying tribute to China’s families.

In 2011, a movie biography of Guo Mingyi was Produced. The movie was directed by Chen Guoxing and Wang Jing, with the lead part played by Hou Yong and supporting parts by Jiang Hongbo, Li Qin and Feng.

China, the early 1920s. Following the 4 May Movement in 1919, when students and radicals demontrated against foreign oppression, Yang Zhihua moves from Zhejiang province to Shanghai and ends up studying sociology at Shanghai University, where she becomes friends with Feng Xiaoxuan, a student of English who’s come to the big city to escape a marriage.

May, a woman singer from the mainland of China, suddenly loses her voice and has conflicts with Ah Lei, her producer and secret lover. In anger she goes to Old Town of Jingtong where she meets Xiao Mo, a warmhearted man. Xia Mo helps May find a place to stay, and finds her work at local restaurant. May finds happiness and consolation in the old streets of the small town, and her voice gets better and better.

A man named Ke Zhi Hong (Wallace Chung) moves into a new apartment. His initially horny landlord, whose Chinese name sounds similar to the words for "Evening Rose", Xia Mei Gui (Ruby Lin), lets him rent one room of the apartment because her dog likes him. She reminds him of his dream girl from his university years, who was his senior by one year and taught him to dance the Jewish dance "Evening Rose". He gradually falls in love with his landlord, but he continues to dwell on his memories of the past "Evening Rose". In the end, he realizes that he remembers the past "Evening Rose" because the name "Evening Rose" reminds him of the feeling of love, and he falls into the arms of the present "Evening Rose"

都市開発の波が打ち寄せる中国・重慶の街中で、かろうじて現状を保ち続ける昔ながらの屋台街。その一軒を構えるバツイチの女性ションヤンの酒家（みせ）は、名物“鴨の首”を売りに毎夜のごとく繁盛していた。だが、店では明るいションヤンも、家族のことで色々な悩みを抱えていた。母は彼女の幼い頃に亡くなり、父は京劇女優と恋仲になった末に家を出た。さらに兄夫婦は家庭崩壊の危機にあり、母代わりとなって育てた弟は薬物中毒で更生施設に入っている。そんなションヤンは、いつしか常連客の男と惹かれ合っていくのだが…。
