Nobody knows where they came from. They parasitize in human beings, take control of them and change their bodies into hideous monsters (Necro-borg). The Necro-borg fight each other until the other dies. Where did they come from? To what end? Yuji and Kaoru, whom both have dark secrets within themselves, get caught up in the horrific battles of Necro-borg. What will their fate be?

Mamoru Miyamoto is a book editor and his friend Masao Muraoka is a writer. Muraoka hasn't released a novel since "Aki no Riyuu." Masao has suffered from mental health issues and, because of this, his voice fails. The two men talk through written notes. It seems Mamoru believes in Masao’s talent as a writer and waits for him to write a new novel, but he also likes Masao's wife Misaki. One day, Miku, who has read Masao’s last novel “Aki no Riyuu” several times, appears in front of him. She tells him that she is so similar to the heroine of the novel and can understand his mind.

『仮面の告白』『潮騒』『金閣寺』『憂国』『サド侯爵夫人』など、数々の名作を著し三島由紀夫（井浦新）はノーベル賞候補と目される文豪になっていた。その一方で、学生運動全盛期の1968年（昭和43年）、三島は民族派の学生らとともに民兵組織・楯の会を結成。有事の際には自衛隊とともに治安出動し、自衛隊国軍化に命を賭す覚悟であった。しかし暴動が起きても警視庁機動隊がこれを治め、自衛隊の出る幕はなく、三島と楯の会の面々は歯噛みする。三島の見つめてきた二・二六事件、浅沼稲次郎社会党委員長刺殺事件、安田講堂事件をはじめとする学生運動、戦後の日本とは。そして、1970年（昭和45年）11月25日、三島は楯の会の4人と共に、陸上自衛隊市ヶ谷駐屯地へと向かう。

西日本一の極道組織、岩鬼組組長の一人息子・将造が、父が亡くなったと知り、4年ぶりに帰国する。父の死が若頭・倉脇のせいだと知った将造は、敵討ちを決意。しかし、あと少しのところで右腕と左足を吹き飛ばされてしまう。手術室で目覚めた将造の右腕にはバルカン砲が、左ひざにはロケットランチャーが仕込まれ改造人間となっていた。

1940年、とある農村に住む青年、黒川久蔵は日中戦争の激化に伴い徴兵を受け、戦地へと赴いた。それから4年後、久蔵は頭部に深い火傷を負い、四肢を失った姿で村に帰還する。戦線で爆弾の爆発に巻き込まれた彼は、声帯を傷つけて話すこともできない上、耳もほとんど聴こえない状態になっていた。「不死身の兵士」と新聞に書き立てられ、少尉にまで昇進した久蔵を村人は「軍神様」と呼び崇め称える。しかし親戚たちは彼の変わり果てた姿に絶望し、妻であるシゲ子に世話を全て押し付けてしまう。

日本赤軍との関係も深い若松孝二監督が、革命を叫ぶ若者のそばから1972年の連合赤軍・あさま山荘事件に迫る人間ドラマ。殺害される運命の遠山美枝子を坂井真紀、中心メンバーである永田洋子を並木愛枝、坂口弘をARATAが熱演。狂信的な連合赤軍メンバーの革命への夢が、悪夢へと至るプロセスが臨場感たっぷりに描かれる。壮絶なリンチシーンは目をそらしたくなるほど衝撃的だが、それ以上に彼らの思いが圧倒的な力強さで表現されている。

昭和40年（1965年）、大幅な規模縮小に追い込まれた福島県いわき市の常磐炭鉱。危機的状況の中、炭鉱で働く人々が職場を失う現実・苦悩に立ち向かい、町おこし事業として立ち上げた常磐ハワイアンセンター（現：スパリゾートハワイアンズ）の誕生から成功までの実話を元に描いた。ハワイアンミュージックと本格的なフラダンスショーが描かれている。
