マッティ刑事にパリまで夜行列車で護送されていたボーゲルは、刑事が寝入ったすきに手錠を外して逃亡を図る。一方、刑務所を出所したコレ―は、貸しのあったリコを訪ね、貸しを返すことを求めるがリコは断る。リコを脅して大金を奪ったコレ―は車でパリに向かうが、そのトランクには列車から脱出したボーゲルが隠れていた…。

殺し屋ジェフ・コステロは、依頼を受けてナイト・クラブのオーナーを殺害する。だが、その日、出演していたピアニストの女性ヴァレリーに顔を見られてしまう。警察はオーナー殺しの犯人捜しに躍起になり、ジェフも呼び出され、クラブの従業員たちを前に面通しをされるが、なぜかジェフをしっかり見ていたはずのヴァレリーは彼ではなかったと証言をする。ジェフは放免されたものの、操作責任者の警視は彼への疑いを消し去ることが出来ず、尾行をつける。

This one is generally looked upon as the best version of the old-fashioned melodrama by Jules Mary.Riccardo Freda,who was mainly known for his horror movies,tried also his hand at spy thrillers in the wake of James Bond ("Coplan Ouvre Le Feu à Mexico") ,and had a penchant for old French melodramas (before "Roger la Honte" ,he redid "Les Deux Orphelines " -D.W.GRiffith's "orphans of the storm-. Georges Géret replaces Lucien Coedel and Irene Pappas takes on Maria Casarès's part of his mistress.Freda 's movie is more compact ,with a running time of 105 min,whereas Cayatte's version (1945-46) spread over two episodes with a total time exceeding 3 hours.It also benefited from the use of color .But all in all,it's the same old story.

Georges Franju's Judex is an arch, playful tribute to the serials of the influential silent filmmaker Louis Feuillade. Franju shuffles through the plot of Feuillade's lengthy serial of the same name, about an adventurer named Judex (Channing Pollock) whose revenge against the corrupt banker Favraux (Michel Vitold) unleashes a complicated series of schemes.

In 1896 it is announced that the Olympic Games will be revived in Athens. A young shepherd, Spiridon Loues, decides to enter the 26-mile marathon. Once in Athens, he meets Christina Gratsos, a young woman from his hometown who is now the personal maid of Eleni Costa, Greece's most glamorous actress. Though he has arrived after the qualification date, Spiridon's athletic prowess so impresses Coach Graham of the American team that he is permitted to enter the contest. Eleni informs the press that she will marry the victor, confident it will be her lover, Lieutenant Vinardos.
