陽子と娘の月子は、ずっと母一人子一人で仲良く支え合って暮らしてきた。ある晩、酔っ払った陽子が若い金髪の男・研二を連れて帰ってきて、彼との結婚を宣言する。あまりに突然の事態に戸惑う月子は、母に裏切られたという思いから陽子にも研二にも素直に心を開けず、家を飛び出してしまう。
