When Volcom was founded in 1991, it was the first company to combine skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding under one brand from its inception. This way of life influenced the anti-establishment style and attitude that defined a generation. The cultural phenomenon was best captured when Volcom released "Alive We Ride" in 1993: a film documenting the raw excitement and spontaneous creativity inherent to the lifestyle. Twenty-one years later, with the release of "True To This", Volcom again captures the energy and artistry of board-riding in its purest forms. Shot all around the world and showcasing iconic athletes, "True To This" is a tribute to the movement that inspired a generation and the people and places that embody that spirit today.
Stick a finger down your throat and barf right now ’cause this vid is SICK! Slater manhandling 10-foot thick “Soup Bowls.” Andy and Bruce pumping your veins up withdanger-shred ballet. But don’t eat a tub of Daaz washed down with an eight ball just yet – Shane Dorian ends this ride raw like the spandex-ed Bruce Dickenson of “Maiden Japan.” We at The Mag recommend this vid big.

Chasing Dora is the story of three California surfers who decided to bring to life an epic challenge thrown down by one of surfing's greatest stylists, the renowned maverick, Miki Dora, who died in 2002 at age 67. Dora was one of the sport's iconic figures. He railed against the commercialization of surfing, yet endorsed one of the best-selling surfboard models of the mid-'60s surf boom; he decried competitive surfing, yet still chose to enter some, and floated schemes to promote others; he shunned publicity, yet managed to use the surf media to create an almost mythic persona for himself. Chasing Dora takes on one of his radical ideas--that the ultimate test of a truly great surfer would be in a contest for the longest wave ridden, on a self-made wooden board, with no equipment or accessories that stemmed from the industrial age--no plastics, no neoprene suits, no surf leashes.
Packed with incredible action footage on the water and plenty of fun on shore, this epic wave-riding adventure joins 11 world-class surfers on a tour through Western Australia and the Indonesian surfing hot spots on Bali and the Mentawi Islands. The Kill 5 is an ode to Kelly Slater. Kelly has two sick sessions: a mental session and interview about the fun tropical surf in Tahiti, followed by a session at a California surf spot known for its amazing one-of-a-kind wedge. Slater drops in behind the lip over and over again. He pulls off critical turning on a dime, reminding the world once again why hes still the best surfer in the world. The Santa Cruz Harbor section, Tom Curren at his own private surfing spot, Kelly Slater at a secret spot in California, Ratboy in Indonesia and Flea surfing Mavericks all shot in 16mm. And dont forget Shawn Barney Barron pulling off the one-of-a-kind maneuver The Barrel Roll. Barney completes a full 360 standing up inside the tube of a wave. A move that has never been done again.
