地球外生命体のシンビオートは、ジャーナリストのエディ(トム・ハーディ)に寄生したものの、食欲を制限されてストレスを溜め込んでいた。そんな折、未解決事件を追うエディは、刑務所に収監中の死刑囚クレタス・キャサディ(ウディ・ハレルソン)と再会する。猟奇殺人を繰り返し、死刑執行が迫るクレタスは突然エディの腕にかみつき、彼の血液が普通の人間とは違うことに気づく。

1978年、ハロウィン前夜に殺人鬼マイケル・マイヤーズが精神病棟を脱走。10月31日、ハロウィンの夜に街で多くの人が襲われ、犠牲になるという戦慄の事件が起きた。この殺人鬼は動機や感情が不明のため、“ブギーマン”と名付けられて人々から恐れられる。事件で生き延びた唯一の生存者ローリー・ストロードは、精神病棟に収監されたマイケルが再び現れることを想定して訓練を続けていた。そして、40年経ったハロウィンの日に、その悪夢は現実のものとなる。

元オートボット司令官センチネル・プライムとディセプティコン破壊大帝メガトロンが引き起こしたシカゴの惨劇から5年、すでにディセプティコンの大半は駆逐されたものの、オートボットとアメリカ政府の同盟も解消され、オートボット達は姿を消していた。テキサス州でしがない廃品回収業を営む発明家ケイド・イェーガーは仕事で赴いた映画館の中で眠っていたトレーラートラックを見つけ、それを自宅に持ち帰る。さっそくケイドはそのトラックを解体しようとした所、それがトランスフォーマーである事を知る。
