After Charles Forsyth was sent to the electric chair for a crime he didn't commit, he forever haunts the prison where he was executed. 実体験を基に描かれた、O・ストーン監督によるベトナム映画。クリス・テイラーがベトナムにやって来たのは1967年。大学を中退してまでベトナムに志願したのは、次々と徴兵されてゆく彼と同年代の若者たちのほとんどが、少数民族や貧しい者たちだった事に対する義憤からであった。だが、いきなり最前線の戦闘小隊に配属されたテイラーにとって、戦争の現実は彼の想像をはるかに超えた過酷なものだった。
